She turned and smiled as she pulled up at the school gate. Then she giggled and reached over to kiss me whispering ‘Not tonight Josephine. Not tonight. - Go have some fun and you can tell me all about it later.’

Sorry my last chapter was a bit hurried. I needed to show I took notice of readers who wanted more so it was just a quick catch up. I try to keep a standard that I set by 1 kudos per 10 readers for the first 500 who open my stories. But I still write around true life when I can since there are better writers for fantasy.
Glad I could respond and so more to come.

It's almost 2 years. Where as the time gone since I joined this site. I never intended to write just to visit for a while and read a few stories. I liked some of the stories that I'd read so I had a go myself. I don't know how many hours of enjoyment I've had and I've always had help and guidance. i look at the stories that had the most hits and the ones that had the most comments and especially the ones with the most hits. I guess my style is popular with some and not with others. I only had one hurtful comment in all my postings that was nothing to lose sleep about.

This is a short story about someone who suddenly changes his opinions having finally met the sweet person who turned on his light. He never expected to find true love or romance when he set out for a regular trim. Based on a true life experience.
....................................................................................................................................

Where is all the romance?

Not many entries to the Valentines Day competition so seemingly not much romance about. Why not watch this film 'The Artist' and see if it inspires you to write like it did for me? Doesn't Sephrena deserve to see her efforts rewarded?

In case you didn't see the film this is what 'The Guardian' newspaper said. 'What a wonderful picture this is: one of those films you yearn to watch again and again, while yet being fearful of spoiling the experience. It is one of the most eloquent movies imaginable.'

I read that after I watched the film and it summed up my feelings.

A Winters Tale - The missing Bit

A Winters Tale — The Missing Bit

By
Julie D Cole

I closed my eyes and snuggled to his warm chest. Was this a dream? I daren’t open my eyes. I just felt that I must look a dreadful sight so I daren’t move in case I woke up. But I could feel a heartbeat and it was beating faster as I snuggled tightly and felt his strong arms around me. I never experienced such comfort and I needed this embrace more than ever in my life.

He didn’t move forward and I daren’t move backwards. What if he was a dream? He pushed forward his hips and I held firm. I was almost off my feet my now standing on the tips of my toes. My God he smelled nice as I nuzzled into his shoulder. Surely I couldn’t be dreaming if I could smell his deodorant. I opened one eye and saw him looking into my face. His teeth were white as the snow and he smiled.

‘Oh Jake I’m so glad that you are alive and well. I’ve searched for signs on the crag in case you fell and froze to death that night when you left so upset with me. What happened?

A Winters Tale

lights06.gif

'A tale of a friendship that 'couldn't be' that took a turn for the worse like the weather one cold snowy Christmas Eve in the heart of the Yorkshire Moors and the difficulties faced a few years later in trying to survive another Winter storm whilst in hope of reconciliation. Inspired by the Song by David Essex. '

I Feel Love

‘I Feel Love’

I was deeply hurt. I loved Jane so much and we had wonderful times together. She’d told me I was unbelievably hot, incredibly funny, kind and her bestest friend in the entire world. Her friends told her they loved me, her mum loved me and even her hyper-critical older sister loved me. She loved me.

Derby Day Surprise - Chapter 4

Derby Day Surprise — Chapter 4

By Julie Dawn Cole

It wasn’t too eventful after that because I was engrossed in the sights around me. Crossing the river was amazing since I’d only ever seen New York on films and on episodes of Friends on TV. I used to look at Jennifer Aniston in wonderment and she certainly knew how to show her best assets. Oh if only.

As we walked towards the exit Carole made a call on his cell phone to ask his driver to pick us up and he took my carry-on bag with the other hand. I hitched my purse strap onto my shoulder and tried to walk with small steps one in front of the other which meant I was almost running to match his long stride.

The flight was very comfortable and not busy so I had an empty seat at the side of me. One thing I found about travelling to US of A was I would be arriving just a few hours after the time I departed so I’d still have time to see a bit of New York this evening with luck.

I turned onto my side and pulled the duvet high over my shoulder. Jac’s leaned over me and turned off the light at the side of the bed and laid back. She didn’t pressurise me at all and instead she puffed up her pillows to make herself more comfortable.

Derby Day Surprise

Derby Day Surprise
By Julie D Cole

It’s not often I get invited to corporate event days since the Senior Executives in our Company have never invited minnows like me and like to mix with the millionaires and the celebrities who often frequent such events. The Derby is one such event and whilst some of my best customers have been invited as our guests there was no involvement from me save the issue of invitations and the follow up to make arrangements for hotels and for any special things I could think of for the wives that came along.
