The next two weeks Delphine, Kupe, Maanushi, and Leinani spend out at sea surveying and testing the ocean currents. The temperatures and ocean chemistry. Delphine and Maanushi were using every sensor and probes Stingray is equipped with.

By the time the two weeks were over, all four were ready to be back on dry land. Delphine drops Maanushi, Kupe, and Leinani back at the old Coast Guard station NOAA had taken over.

“How long are we in port for?” Kupe and Maanushi had a few things they needed to take care of.

“Don’t know yet. Kinsley is supposed to send us a schedule of things NOAA wants us to do.” Delphine stretches, before heading back into Stingray.

“Alright, I’ll call Kinsley and find out what we are doing. I have to get these samples and information to her.” Maanushi knew Kinsley would want what they have gathered so far.

“Okay, call me if you need anything.” Delphine shuts the hatch and heads back to her family pier. She has been thinking it might be nice to add onto it, so she can dock Stingray, properly.

Delphine shuts Stingray down as she glides to a stop. She was happy to be home. Now, she could get started on her new project. She already figured she’ll use some of the same technology she put into Stingray, into the boat she bought.

Delphine heads up to the house once she gets Stingray docks and shut down. She didn’t have much laundry to do from her trip. She drops her laundry off in the laundry room and gets it going. Afterward, she heads towards her father’s office and calls the contractor they use for fixing and maintaining the dock. She gives him the dimensions she needs the new addition to be added on. Delphine knew it was going to be huge, compared to the dimensions of Stingray. Most of the space was because of his wings. They were big enough to maintain his design and for him to glide underwater.

Once, that was taken care of, she heads into the kitchen to grab some lunch. She heads down to her father’s and grandfather’s boat dock to get to work on the new boat. She spends the rest of the day working on the boat.

“Delphine, dinner is ready.” Nicole’s voice comes over the intercom mounted in the workshop.

Delphine looks up from the water jet system she had managed to install in the engine bay of the boat. It was a tight fit, but she managed to install it. The problem was, the water system she uses to power the Stingray, won’t work in the boat. So, she was planning on using a biofuel she heard of. She would prefer to use a hydrogen cell, but the biofuel would work.

Delphine closes the work area down and heads up towards the house. She has missed her mother’s cooking while she was out at sea. The MRE’s were alright, but nothing beat a home-cooked meal.

Delphine walks into the house and notices her father and brother were home as well. She waves at them as she heads into the bathroom to clean up and back out to join them.

“So, what are you building out in the workshop now?” Bobby looks at his little sister.

“I’m working on that boat I bought from you guys. Oh! I also called Dusty at Marine Engineering to come and add on an addition to the pier for Stingray.”

“You should have clear that with me first, Delphine.” Ross looks at his daughter.

“Don’t worry father. I’m paying for the cost of the pier. I still have some money set aside and were still in our allotted zone for our permit.”
Delphine knew what their permit allowed them to do.

Ross shakes his head as he takes a bite of his food. He was okay with his daughter making an addition to the dock, but he would have liked her to talk with him first.

“So, what are you planning on doing with this new boat, your designing?” Nicole looks over towards her daughter.

“I haven’t decided yet. It might be used for racing or patrolling. I just can’t get the idea of how I want to build it, out of my head.” All Delphine could think about was what she wanted to do with the boat.

“How long do you think it is going to take you to build this new boat?”

“At least a month to build it and a few weeks afterward to test it properly.”

“Are you going to be around that long to work on it?” Bobby wonders what his sister's schedule was going to be now.

“Don’t know, Kinsley hasn’t given us our new orders yet. I’m hoping whatever she gives me, will keep me around some.” Delphine wanted to work on the new boat for a while.

“You’re the one that loves being out at sea. Also, aren’t you planning on spending some time with your boyfriend?” Bobby smirks at his sister.

“Yes, I’m planning on spending some time with my boyfriend.” Delphine almost forgot about Tom.

“Yeah, right.” Bobby noticed the look on his sister’s face when he reminded her.

“Hey, this dating stuff is still new to me. I never dated when I was in the service.” Delphine only hung with a few friends off her ship when she went ashore.

After dinner, Delphine goes to the laundry room to move her wet clean clothes to the drier to be dried. She had no privacy on Stingray, with three other people there. Luckily, no one figured out she had to use her dilators.

Once the drier was going, she heads towards her bedroom and sits down at her computer. She needed to locate two jet engines for the new boat. She had a list of people she could get the engines from. She couldn’t find one that would meet her measurements, which meant she would have to build one from scratch.

She pulls up the jet thruster designs of Stingray and makes a few changes to them. Once the changes were done, she runs the simulator program to see how it plays out. The simulations play out well. She saves the plans to take to the company that constructed the engines for Stingray.
