Rachel watches as Roman went around the track. This was the second race she had to miss because of the injuries to her leg. She tried riding the spare motorcycle the other day and reopened her wound. She had to go back to the hospital, and have it reclosed. She was going to have
a lasting scar when her legs finally heal.

She spots Nina taking pictures of the race. Rachel continues to watch the race and is a little disappointed when Roman crosses the finish line in fourth place. She grabs his water bottle and waits for him to pull up to her.

Roman was pissed he came in, in fourth place. He stops his motorcycle where their Rv was parked.

He removes his helmet and accepts the water bottle “I can’t believe, I came in fourth place.” He takes a sip of water and swishes it around in his mouth.

“They set you up from the beginning.” Rachel watched as Ted and his friends singled Roman out and kept him from getting towards the front of the group.

“I know. I can’t wait, till you are cleared to get back out on the track.” Roman missed having his wingman with him. He always did better with Rachel by his side.

“Well, we have the race in Blue Ridge, Georgia we can make the race up. Ted doesn’t like that track. He’ll more than likely head towards the
South Carolina race.” Rachel knew Ted hated racing in Georgia and Texas.

“Here, let me pack your motorcycle up.” Rachel takes Roman’s motorcycle and loads it into the trailer.

She Nina was going to be a while. She had an offer from several sports magazines and motorcycle magazines to buy her photos. One magazine had said they would pay extra if Nina could get an interview from her, which she gave.

Nina shows up half-n-hour later. She had her cameras with her and was looking very happy. She got some fabulous photos from the contestants out on the track.

Rachel noticed how pleased Nina was “you seem happy?”

“That’s because I got some fabulous shots from the race.” Nina gives Rachel a kiss.

Rachel returns the kiss. She loved when Nina kissed her and when he took pictures of her when she went around the track.

“So, where are we heading next?” Nina looks at Rachel.

“Blue Ridge, GA. We’re skipping the South Carolina race.”

“How come?” Nina was curious, because Rachel and Roman, normally followed the races.

“Ted, won’t race in Texas or Georgia. He doesn’t like the tracks.” That’s what she had heard about Ted.

“Well, that’s good news for you and Roman. Are you going to race, this time around?”

“I’m going to try.” Rachel wanted to get back on her motorcycle and race.

“Are you ladies ready to head south?” Roman was ready to go.

“Yeah, we’re coming.” Rachel enters the RV.

Nina enters as well and sits over at the table to start transferring her photos to her laptop. Racheal sits in the driver seat, while Roman sat in the passenger's seat.

“Try not to kill us.” Roman leans back in his seat, and take a nap.

“Ha, Ha. You’re, so funny.” Rachel heads towards the interstate and takes it.

Nina works in the back on the photos she took, while Rachel drove and Roman slept. She couldn’t believe some of the shots she managed to get of the riders. She makes a selection of photos to send to the different publishers.

She sends the photos off to the different publishers for their article. Once she was done, Nina moves over to the other sofa, so she can talk with Rachel.

“So, how long do you stay on the road?”

“About five months and then Roman and I head back to our full-time job.” Rachel wishes she made as much money as some of the riders did, so she didn’t have to be a hostess.

The top riders she knew made $16 to $18 million dollars, then there were the others who make $1 million. Her and Roman, only make $20,000 apiece from their sponsors. Most of that money went into paying taxes and fixing their motocross dirt bikes

“Hey, I’m going to stop at 88 Truckstop to refuel. Do you want to grab some dinner, while we're there?” Rachel takes the exit for the truck stop.

“Sounds like a plan.” She looks at Roman “do you want to wake him?”

“Yes, if we don’t. I’ll never hear the end of it.” Rachel knew Roman wouldn’t want to miss the chance to eat.

Rachel pulls up next to the gas pumps and fills the tank up on the RV. She uses the gas card she and Roman contribute to.

She finds a parking space near the restaurant, after filling the tanks up. She notices there were a bunch of motorcycles parked nearby.

“I wonder what club they are with?” Rachel wouldn’t mind meeting them.

“I would like to know as well.” Nina saw the motorcycles as well.

They looked to be mostly Harley’s and Triumphs. However, there were a few other motorcycles among them. Nina snaps a few pictures of the motorcycles.

When they walk to the dining area of the truck stop, Rachel and Nina spot a bunch of women sitting together. They had leather and jean
jackets. On the back of their jackets, were Dykes on Bikes symbol.

“Hey Nina, look. It’s a DOB group here.” Rachel has read about them but has never met them before.

Roman looks at them and some of them really looked like the typical dykes he knew were lesbians. Some of them looked really pretty.

“Why don’t the two fo you go over and talk with them. I’ll be okay.” Roman didn’t mind if Rachel and Nina joined them.

Carol was sitting and talking with her lover Kathy when she spotted Rachel and Roman walking up to place their food. She wonders who the other woman was standing with them.

“Hey, Kathy look behind you and tell me who you see?” Carol had a smile on her face.

Kathy turns around and after a few seconds, she spots Rachel and Roman. A smile appears on her face “I’m going to invite them to sit with us.”

“That’s fine.” Carol wouldn’t mind meeting them.

Kathy gets up and walks over to Rachel, Nina, and Roman. She waits till they pay for their meals “ Hi, I’m Kathy Sunmers and I’m a big fan of yours, Rachel and Roman. Would you please join me and my partner at our table, please?”

Rachel was a little startled by Kathy, but she didn’t show it “We accept your invitation.”

Rachel follows Kathy over towards her and Carol’s table. Nina follows Roman and Rachel. When they go to sit down “Carol, Kathy I would
like you to meet my girlfriend Nina Stone. She’s a photographer and has been following me and Roman as we compete.”

“It’s nice to meet you, Mrs. Stone.” Carol liked her.

“It’s nice to meet you and your partner as well.” Nina sits down in between Racheal and Roman.

They make small talk while they were eating.
