The Life Of An Angel Chapter 9

Printer-friendly version

After breakfast with her mothers. Angie and Carol took the girls with them to a tattoo parlor owned by one of the MC members. Angel had The Property of Carol Wallace tattoo in big letters on her right breast, just like she had seen her mother Angie’s several years ago. As for the one on Carol, she didn’t give Carol a choice where it was place. She had it placed on the left hand side of her neck. Just like her mother D.A. did with Angie’s name. This way Carol couldn’t hide it. The tattoo said The Property of Angel Dakota Swan with an angel resting on top of her middle name.

Angel speaks with the tattoo person and she informed her since the girls are too young to get tattoos, that she could redo the one Angel did this morning that would last a little longer. So, Angel lets the lady redo their temp tattoo and put little angels over their names. After the girls are done getting their temp tattoos redone. Angel and Carol take the girls with them to pick out engagement rings and wedding rings for each other.

Angel also commission two necklaces with two female figures with five angels forming an arch above their heads. Angel finds three angels in crystal like her necklace and buys them. She puts one on each girl and one on Carol, after giving her a kiss.

While Angel, Carol and the girls are sitting down at a nice café. A young man walks up to Angel.

“Are you Angel Dakota Swan?” He was watching Angel as she looked at him.

“Yes, I’m Angel Dakota Swan. How can I help you.” Angel was wondering who this guy could be.

“This is for you Ms. Swan.” He pulls a white envelope out and hands it to her.

“You’ve been served.” He turns and walks away.

“Angel, let me see it please.” Carol holds out her hand.

“Sure.” Angel had a puzzled look on her face. Why was she being served?

Carol opens it and notice the name of the law firm at the top of the letter. As she reads further down the letter. There were court papers saying she was being charged with kidnapping and the corruption of minors. That the mother of the girls was fighting her claim to adopt the girls.

“I was afraid of this Angel. The mother of Sammy and Tammy has hired a law firm to fight your claim to the girls. She is also charging you with kidnapping and the corruption of minors.” Carol looks at Angel and notice Angel was getting pissed. If Angel was anything like D.A. when she got pissed or angry. Heads were going to roll.

“Who’s the” Angel was about say jackass in front of the girls, but curved herself.

“Mason, Jones and Tiffany law firm. They are one of your mother’s biggest pain in the butt rivals. She has had to defend several people from their law suits. They are what we call in the business ambulance chasers and vultures. They use whatever dirty trick they can to win a case and sue someone. Plus, they are firm believers in one man and one woman marriages. So, they are going to use the fact that you’re a lesbian and that you used to be a boy to their advantage.”

Carol folds the paper back up and places them in her purse.

The girls had been sitting quietly listening to their new mothers.

“Are they going to take us away from you mom?” Sammy was looking at Angel.

“Not if I or your grandmothers have anything to say about it. I have friends on the police force in this town and I know our MC will protect you from anyone trying to grab you from me. Mom has a lot of friends in high places as well. You girls won’t be taken from me.”

Carol had a smile on her face. She now knew who Angel took after the most.

“The girls won’t be taken from us, love. I agreed to marry you and that makes them my responsibility as well.” Carol places her hand on
Angel’s proving she meant it.

“Go on and eat girls.”

Angel was to piss to continue eating. So, she just watches the girls eat and drink her sweet ice tea. How dare that law firm go after her and try to take the girls from her. Those girls deserve better then what they were getting from their mother. She felt Carols hand rest on her thigh under the table and give her a little squeeze. Angel looks back towards her.

“I’ll be okay.” Angel tries to smile to make Carol believe she would.

Carol notice that Angel was fuming. She has come to be able to tell her moods through her writing and what time she spent with her during the holidays. Carol knew D.A. would want to know as soon as possible. Once everyone was done eating. Carol and Angel took the girls to the park and let them burn off energy by swing and sliding. Carol kept a close watch on Angel and after a while she started to see her wife to be relax.

Brenda and Kimberly were out with their children bicycling and spotted Angel and Carol at the park entertaining their girls as well. They pull up to the park and let their daughter and two boys go and play on the swings and such with Tammy and Sammy.

“How have you been Brenda?” Angel hugs her old friend/Aunt.

“Fine. Kimmy tells me you enrolled the girls at her school.” Brenda looks at her wife and smile. Kimmy was her pet name for Kimberly.

“Yep. I wanted them to go to the same school I went to and that Lisa is going to. I know Kimberly will keep them in order. How is your oldest now?”

“She’s doing better now. She was having a hard time adjusting to school and having sibling, but she has come around. You should see the three of them sometimes. The boys drive her crazy at times, but she loves them. They try pulling the typical who am I on her, but she knows the boy as well as we do. That trick won’t work on their sister.”

“I know what you mean. Tammy and Sammy haven’t played that trick on us yet, but both are unique. Sammy is the most direct one. She will speak her mind, while Tammy is kind of shy and tends to be a little bit quieter. She’s soft spoken.” Angel was keeping an eye on their girls.

“So, when is the big day?” Brenda had notice the engagement ring on both women and the tattoos.

“We haven’t set a date yet. She just asked me this morning to be her wife.” Carol looks at Angel with a loving smile on her face.

“Well, I know the two of you will make a loving couple. Angel, you know your mothers didn’t get their tattoo’s till they were already married.” Brenda had spotted the gauze covering Angels breast.

“As far as I’m concern. We are married. I think we just need to make it legal.” Angel holds Carols hand in hers.

“I think I remember someone else saying that once.” Brenda looks over towards Kimberly.

Kimberly just blushes. Everyone just starts laughing after that and watches the kids play.

Angel and Carol says goodbye to Aunt Kimberly and Brenda and watch as they ride off.

“Let’s go and gets some dinner for everyone and head home.”

on the girls should also stand as further evidence to use against their biological mother . Being undernourished and roaming the streets , hungry and dirty should also help the case . They shouldn't have a leg to stand on with the kidnapping charge because D.A would have made sure that a judge would have signed off on any legal agreement for Angel to Foster the girls as they worked through the adoption process .

Hmmm, wonder if D.A. is

Hmmm, wonder if D.A. is familiar with the Finn Family and might enlist their help in this case as well? THAT would be a really neat cross over story line.
D.A. does not strike me as anyone to mess with, and the two girls mother may just wish she had remained "out of sight and out of mind".
She does seem to be nothing more than a gold digger and sees Angel as an easy mark to make some quick money off of. Hoping it does not work out well for her, and she finds herself in jail or prison for all the hell she has put her two daughters through thus far.

well...

The chapters to come will certainly be interesting, especially with the lawsuit and such, which I can't wait to read in about how DA will rip into the other law firm, which I can't express any sympathy for for using a really crappy catch frase like that.
