Boy things Girl things

This is similar to the classic dilemma of trans women who are afraid to show interest in traditionally 'male' interests. For some reason they think that makes them less of who they are striving to be; 'Well I never showed interests in girly things like dolls growing up, Doc!' or 'I showed no 'girly' behaviors' etc.

For a creater such as Terry, he should treat it like any other creative challenge like he does in music. Cmon' Terry, you are the musical genius, so how do you resolve dissonant chords, hmmm?

Time for Terry to form a plan to create that hit single of him/her self.

Look, all of it springs from the same well, now he is just not willing to acknowledge he had Tasha there all of the time.

totally

Dear Kimmie,

When I examine Terry's inner dilemmas, a lot of his inner turmoil can easily be reversed and seen as how individuals express their need to transition. Terry's situation spins the idea of transitioning on its head, where he's not 100% board with what's happening to his own individual body and future.

Of course, it's ironic how everyone is on board except him. We keep saying c'mon but his point of view is not full of hindsight and adult confidence. It's a fun ride for me.

Adult perspective

Oh, I am too aware of that being the case.

But it is up to the adults around to present the case to Terry to lead him to that lightbulb moment.

They have to speak his language, which in this case is music, but they have yet to strike that 'chord' in him.

right

I think Grace is doing a fine job of gaining his confidence and slowly giving him suggestions.

Terry's emotions have him on a roller coaster ride, but they are not freezing him in place. He's still enjoying all the excitment happening around him.

Terry's Problem

joannebarbarella's picture

Is 'fear'. Which of us haven't experienced that? Is this the right path for me? What if I find I don't like it? What if everybody hates me when I'm a girl? What if I can't write my music any more?

The other Wildcats will have to pull him through all of that...patience and time! He has an amazing support group but he has to believe in them.

I believe in you, Leslie.

Thank you

Dear Joanne,

Thanks for the note of confidence. The world is a crazy place. In the next section, Terry and Jenn take a few days away in Key West.

Terry starts to realize that nobody is pointing or laughing. He and Jenn have a wonderful week.

I haven't been on much

Sorry about that. As for my thoughts so far... a great story so far & if you want to fluff it up a bit (my suggestion is do, but that's me) when Terry & his/her girlfriend go out with the moms maybe include some of the interactions with the moms, and when Terri/y meet with Jens mom. I personally would like to know what took place during dinner what was talked about & maybe what they had to eat. Maybe put the opening of this one on part 1...

Love Samantha Renée Heart.

More details

Dear Samantha,

The story you are reading here is my first try and is intended for the readers here.

I love constructive criticism and when I rewrite the story to publish it will take all those suggestions seriously in the finished book for Amazon.

I weigh out a fine line between too little or too much. The rewrite always gets bigger.

Hi Leslie,

Hi Leslie,
Ive read this chapter a few times, trying to analyse it. I feel for Terry here. He knows what is going on and what is happening interally. It seems that no one else is allowing him to come to terms with everything that is happening to him so far. It seems the more they push him the more he internalizes. It has only been a few months for him. He totally understands he stradles a fence of neither male nor female but I really wonder if those who push him see the damage they are doing to him?
Terry is still 18, coming to terms with a life changing diagnosis, coming to terms with he was never really who he thought he was and still dealing with PTSD from Amos's attacks. The last thing he needs is the people he loves most trying to push Tasha on Terry permanently right now until he can achieve peace with his inner war.
I think if everyone stops pushing Terry to be Tasha fulltime and allow terry to come to their own terms, Terry's mental heaalth will fare better.
Jen needs to ease up on the lesbian couple angle on Terry and just allow them to focus on the "us" side without the labels.
I have been thinking how to eloquate my thoughts on this, after all it took me more than a few months to come to terms with me.
Cheers
Amanda

Saying Hi

Dear Amanda, I reread your letter several times out of courtesy. No, seriously. You've talked about the foundational differences between Terry's Point Of View and the Cats. They've always known him as willing to dress up and sacrifice his manhood for the sake of the band. They only see the glamour.
Now, he's shared his discomfort and his fragmented mental state to all of them. He makes no excuses about being a babe in the woods when it comes to being a woman.
Jenn is his other half. She is what keeps him seeing the positive side of everything. Of course, I think that's what Chapter 5.1 is all about.

So happy to see a new WildCats book in the making!

I’m sure it’s coming and you’re just keeping us in suspense. But, I’m literally getting Dysphoria while reading about Terry/Teri/Tasha’s internal struggle. Every time Terry is referred to as ‘He’, I get a cramp in my stomach! I can hardly wait until Terry finds some peace!

Keep writing the uncomfortable feels, you’re very good at it!

No, thank you!

Dear Grace,
Thank you very much for taking the time to read and write.
I'm not sure I can wear my Phillies hat after you've given me so many compliments. And yes, I love pulling my hair through the back.
Please don't expect Terry to be able to be a candidate for SRS too soon. First of all, he's eighteen. (And yes, I use masculine pronouns to describe Terry. He might look like Tasha, but he's still pinching himself over how his life has changed.)
He never grew up thinking he was intersex or that his female organs were hidden. Everything is coming at him at once.
His saving Grace are his counselor, his bandmates, his mom, and Jenn. The women in his life are his guiding lights. And yes, eventually none of us will cringe. But this book is just getting started.

Incredulous

I'm sure somebody else has mentioned it, but when you make the Kindle book, it is Inconceivable. You do know, of course, that I will buy said book!

Thanks,
Larimus

Hmmm

Incredulous!

But the whole book gets several rewrites before it gets published. Nothing is worse that paying for a book that was poorly finished.

Well, actually I can think of a lot worse.
