Halloween coming up...

Author:

Halloween is coming up!!! I've been meaning to really do up a good costume and have some fun with it, especially considering the androgyny of these characters. I'm looking at trying to pull off King from "King Of Fighters" and "Fatal Fury" or Naoto Shirogane with her "Persona 4" look.
Any suggestions for places to look in terms of Halloween places where I might be pleasantly surprised in terms of resources?

Different kind of thanks.

Everyone has been saying thanks for family et al for Thanksgiving I'd rather give an atypical thank you here.

Part of my heritage is Irish/Celtic and I was never a big fan of the popularized aspects of Irish culture. That being said, Maggie Finson writing about Fey and the Sidhe by extension makes me truly proud to have such interesting folklore as part of my ancestry.
So thank you Mags for writing about Fey and the Faerie by extension. Additionally, I hope you are doing well my friend.

Gayageum lessons.

Blog About:

Author:

I don't live in the immediate vicinity of L.A. or San Fran but I was wondering if anyone knew of general availability of finding a musical teacher in the U.S. to help teach me the Gayageum. It's a Korean zither and I've really wanted to learn it ever since hearing it's potential on "Heartstrings".

I would like to learn on the full string but they're quite expensive for me now so I'm looking at the basic model for now.

Tiny House Architecture Lessons

Author:

I don't know about the rest of you but I find the tiny house movement fascinating, especially in what I believe it can tell us.

I believe taking some of the Tiny House architecture techniques(the hidden spaces) into the commercial housing industry will work wonders. Notably, talking to a homeowner to create a minimalist aesthetic in practice will create untold peace and productivity as well. Add a little bit of natural human chaos and you have a real positive architecture movement taking hold.

Looking at upgrading to Gigabit Internet(questions).

Author:

I'm looking at upgrading to Gigabit Internet and had some questions for the even more intensive tech. people here, at least in terms of networking. So Piper and others..
First, is CAT5e cable backwards compatible with CAT5 devices if they don't support 1 gb. ethernet? I'm looking at my PS3 and on the Wiki page it says that it supposedly supports 1 Gigabit internet but it's Wiki. I'd just use CAT6 to futureproof it all but I get the impression it wouldn't hash with non-gigabit ports.

LightOfFury's stories

What happened?! I can't read any stories about characters being transformed in Mai Shiranui or someone as big into SNK fighters. And her other stories were great.

Are you still here Light?! Please come back.

Also, now I'm thinking I may make backup's of stories for my eyes only, should they be pulled. I love all of these authors way too much to just see them gone from my eyes though if you wish to pull them from the site so be it.

I'm still fuming about that "Beyond the Sea" fan fiction getting pulled so quickly from MORFS though.

Korean name suggestions

Author:

I am looking at creating a new story and was needed quite a bit of male and female Korean names. Can I get some suggestions here? I would only ask, nay beg, no one suggest Jung Hwa.

Anyway, let the name drop begin!!!! ^_^

Help...inspiration in terms of a story

I'm looking at writing a story and I already have an idea for an ending and the beginning with a bit more(I really feel it could be good). I guess I'm pondering how to develop in between point A and B.
I'm not that author who has a muse like a few of you describe. I don't have tons of words and a beautiful scripted dialogue that just flows out of me. It's just not terribly easy for me. I would really like some tips in how possibly to develop supporting characters. Some suggestions on possibly being able to let the dialogue flow out...and naturally at that.

Mrs.Stevenson pulled...

Author:

I'm sad to see it pulled as I think Jodie writes some great stories. If I found out she pulled them because of relentless trolling by pm's I will not be happy.
I know there are some great authors around here and on other tg fiction sites that have pulled or stopped writing further stories on a character because of trolling and some "critiques" that border on trolling.
To the people pulling this nonsense knock it off!!! If you want to give honest constructive criticism that's fine but trolling is something else entirely.

Syriza and its consequences for the EU.

I am so happy that Syriza won but I'm wondering what will happen. I am hoping Syriza will at the very least see these austerity measures thrown out, with a more equitable agreement happening. Maybe in this new measure the rich people in Greece will pay their fair share instead of seeing the middle class face undue hardship for bad decisions made by those in power who are likely in league with the rich.

Console collections and unappreciated ones.

Author:

Jenna inspired me to come up with this thread. I'm curious to get a feel for what consoles people have here. You don't have to list them all, just the one's you may think are noteworthy/current and one's you feel might be unappreciated.

Right now I have most of the "next gen" as well as all the current gen. It took a while for me to wade into the waters of the Wii, eventually getting a Red one. I imported a Japanese one before but something my buyer did screwed it up so I can't hook component up to it or go online, defeating the point of me having it.

Anyone here have a PS4?

Author:

I was just wondering if anyone here has a Playstation 4 and is playing Far Cry 4 yet? Definitely enjoying it, especially some of the animal elements. Throwing bait at the enemies to get any variety of animals to go after them. Snow Leopard, Bhole, bear, etc. :D
You definitely have to show some stealth in this game but I always like a challenge in that respect.

Organic Charity?

Blog About:

Author:

I am wondering if anyone here has heard of a charity which offers organic or, at the very least, non-GMO food to homeless people? I mean a shelter or even just a soup kitchen.
I have truly been thinking about wanting to set something like this up if it doesn't already exist. I think most of you might have an inkling of how I feel about GMO's so I would ask certain members here NOT to start debating me about GMO's in this posting.

TG Day Of Remembrance rhyme

Since the 20th is coming up I might meet fate and partake in the chance to wake a dreamer. Remember these terrible follies and stop shaming ourselves as human beings. It can seem even the most awake has the ides of March in their eyes. This terrible malady truly places them in a snit, fit to fall in such a terrible trap. These societal jaws tear flesh from maws or toy with one. I ask you not to forget and be well met to keep a light on and your eyes upon more than the form.

Help finding a good all around eBook reader(eInk a must).

Author:

Hey everyone. I was hoping for some good advice on an eBook reader. Primarily I wish to use this to comfortably read scanned PDF and ePub's on it. I have a lot of books, both school and otherwise, I would like to have on hand without physically lugging them around.
I picked up a cheap Nook but I really dislike the text adjustment options on the the PDF conversion. If I make the text small enough to fit the page it's too small to read and the next size up doesn't really fit the page terribly well.

International Ambrosia.

Just for general curiosity what is your Ambrosial foreign food? I could just say Ambrosia in general and I think most would say something domestic, from their region so I decided to make it interesting.
My Ambrosia would be Japchae. It's a Korean dish that features stir-fried Sweet Potato Noodles with beef usually(cept the recipe I use uses dried Shitake mushrooms) and green peppers with a soy sauce that has garlic, sugar and a few other choice items. It is delicious and I wish I was making some right now. My mouth is watering at the thought.

Who else is as crazy about Korean Drama's as I am or just Asian Drama's in general?

Good, sometimes great stories with solid soundtracks easily. Very little overacting most of the time and the stories actually end! :D

Old News but...

This is old news but still significant. On Christmas Eve last year someone who touched me passed away. Radio host Lynn Samuels, who started at WBAI in New York, moved up to WABC, was fired from there and moved to Sirius Left, died.

This is to express a new story I have in mind. It will be very short and coming in the next week or two. After that there will be a halt for a while as I'll be starting on classes and other things.
I will be adding to the Crescent City Universe created by The Professor, adding more types and some great little wrinkles that fit right in. I have asked The Professor and received permission so I really hope you like it.
This will likely end up a side story, fitting into it but not directly tying into anything with Cassie.

Moorehouse why?!

I was wondering if anyone heard about the dress code Moorehouse is instituting. There's the typical no baggy pants, doo rags and so on but as part of this list wearing Women's Clothing is banned.
Gah can you be so closeminded?! You educated MLK and you're being so intolerant here! X-( It's a piece of clothing you phobic people!

Some things gotta be fresh.

I was listening to DNR(Derek and Romaine) today and they were talking about this one place they were at during Columbus Pride. They spoke of it having great Ginger Ale, how it was made with fresh Ginger.
I had to call in and comment on how I can definitely feel that. I tried using powdered Ginger in this one recipe TWICE, the second time with more in it and I found it didn't cut it. I mean it just didn't have that snap you'd get with fresh Ginger. Maybe some of you will empathize, having used it before.

Well hello all. It's my first blog entry here. Part of the reason I'm posting it is I plan to get around to putting up my first story which I hope you enjoy. It's quite short and only my girl Mags has read it so far. I plan to put it through the cleaners a bit after I add some content, submit it and see what all of you think.
