There are a total of 7 prizes: 1 x 1st Place, 2x 2nd Place, and 4 x 3rd Place. The current cash prizes are 1 x $150, 2 x $75, 4 x $25.
The Winner's Announcement is March 3, 2022 along with payouts. I will be issuing the payouts in a timely fashion same day.
I and one other person will be grading the stories in between the cutoff and and announcement. This contest will not be voted on. I and one other person will grade them on appeal to the reader, characterization, and how well the Love or Loss stories play out.
The basic requirement is that the story be of Love and Win in the end or Love and Loss of that Love for Valentine's Day - (This means that the Love and Loss can be brought down to neutral friendship level or is lost entirely by any means.) I'm giving the option as I'm open to both types of stories.
How to Submit your entry:
1. Write your story and finalize it. Any number of stories may be submitted but only one of them may win a prize.
2. When posting it up, ensure to click the Contests box and select the 2022-02 February BCTS "Magic of The Heart" Story Contest selection as an identification of the entry.
3. Add the little Magic of The Heart Contest Identifier Picture code string at the top of your story teaser.

4. After Posting your story, please pm me (Sephrena) with your paypal address for mailing a winning to should you win or an address to mail a money order to if you wish it in that fashion. I am asking for these early because of the trouble with people being away for a long time after the Christmas Contest announcements and trying to pay people.

Many Kinds of Love
Since this is for Valentine's, should we assume we're talking about romantic love, and not something like becoming estranged from a parent?
That is correct
However, the loss of love is like an arc where they both liked one another, then one of them fell out of love and either wants to stay friends or break away. The loss felt by the main character is the other half possibility to write about instead of the Love and Win scenario where everything is all good and warm :)

Stories in Parts
I have a question about stories being presented in multiple parts. Is the entire story being judged, or only the first part?

I did write a story and entered the competition. It was intended as a Solo but then I had some suggestions I continue including from you.
Then I decided it didn't matter either way because I wanted to continue the story and I took note of comments as I usually do. That's what I like about this site and why it's difficult to complete multi chapter stories. Interaction stimulates writers. I'll be pleased if there are lots of stories posted in this competition because it will again prove that there are so many ways to tell a story around a set topic.
