One of these days, I'm going to get used to being seen as a woman. But, today, it still gave me a little thrill when I got referred to by a complete stranger as "she" even though I was in a pretty shapeless coat, pants, and hadn't shaved.

I sorta hate to disagree with
I sorta hate to disagree with the others, but I transitioned to full time officially in September of 2006. That was about 6 years ago, and I am still not blase' at being gendered as a woman each and every day. I have had an easier task to just be one with the GRS, and it seems like I have always been in the correct body. I love it after waiting for so long, and I can't take the recognition for granted, at least not yet. Maybe in 20 years or so? Maybe? ;).

One of the participants once described the ultimate proof of acceptance as Woman. She was member of a company board and had lanced a new idea, but her idea was not accepted more like ignored. At the next (or was it over-next, I do not remember which any more) the same idea was proposed by a male mamber of the board. It was accepted wihout any discussions. And our sister took this as the ultimate confirmation of her womanhood.

That aside... I do understand the feeling.
Though I think I have to disagree with one of the above posters and admit that I hope it does go away someday... IMO, That will be when I've truly made it. When I no longer need any external validation.
