For those of you who enjoy my scribbles, it might please you to know that our practice nurse thinks I'll live a bit longer, after she checked my leg. It still bloody hurts, especially when standing up from sitting or sitting from standing. Which means I'm on sick leave for the next day or two. Dunno which is worse the boredom from inaction, or the pain when I try to move.
Sitting at a computer probably doesn't help especially when I try to get up afterwards.
I suppose using such a story title for so long was tempting providence - so today, I did just that, fell off my bike. I have two rather painful knees, but at least I've stopped the bleeding now.
As the time goes on I'm finding some new bruises and aches and pains, including my left wrist and thumb - both of which I've injured before.
The concern of motorists is breathtaking, they just drove past while I'm standing at the roadside dripping blood everywhere. Thankfully, I was out with friends, so managed to get home and do some first aid to myself.

I try to keep the cycling element of Bike as fairly realistic as I can, and although Cathy gets into scrapes, she's so far pulled through. Cycling is not without risk, even for the experienced rider.
One of our club, a very fit 76 yr old, died on Sunday morning doing a time trial when he ran into the back of an abandoned car - always a risk when you're racing, especially time trialling. It's just difficult to believe I was talking to him the day before.
The only consolation is that he died doing something he loved, maybe he's the lucky one.
Sorry, too tired to write tonight, my IBS has been playing up and I'm just knackered, not to put too fine a point on it. Hopefully the saga will continue tomorrow.
I will be away on holiday from tomorrow for a week. I'm staying in the UK - actually up in the Lake District at a friend's house. I will try and post a few episodes, but can't promise anything as I don't think my dongle will work - my friend's house doesn't have good mobile reception.
Normal service will be resumed when I get home - I did ask Bonzi to cover for me, but he declined, threatening to kill all my characters, 'cos I'm not taking him with me - can't get his bike in the car (or that's what I told him).

There are loads of loose ends to tie up, which is just like a real person who dies, or like we all have everyday, so there are always plenty of plot lines to follow or I could end it where it is - if the latter, as it's written in the first person, there would be no more, the narrator is no more. I know I tried that before and popular demand resurrected her.
Honestly, I sometimes wonder at people's intelligence, homosexuality is caused by demonic possession - duh? So how would they explain transsexualism? In this day and age, to judge persons on their sexual orientation is so ridiculous it's pathetic. The evidence is stacking up that most of these things are organic or genetic in origin, so why can't they get the message? Oh I forgot, most of them think the world was created in six days...

It's interesting the hedgehog is included, as is Muscardinus avellanarius about which I write reams. The pictures are worth a look, pity it won't shame the Japanese, Norwegians and Icelandians to stop killing whales for spurious research, which we all know goes straight to Japanese restaurants - disgusting people.

My latest effort in my Gaby Dorset trilogy is with my editor having its 'ead 'it. I hope to get it to Mad over the weekend, and presumably she'll add it to her site when she does the next update. I'll post a link - if I can remember when it goes up. There's a bit of a bike race in this one, just for a change.
Is well into production and I hope to have it ready for posting over Easter weekend, for those of you who enjoy my schoolgirl saga. Kylie attends school as a girl, not for the first time, but certainly for the first time officially. What's going to happen - watch this space and see.
My weekend was a bit like the curate's egg - good in parts. I had a good time with my daughter and her partner, although my IBS nearly spoilt things - I had two bouts this time, once in the cinema and I had to go running to the loos as the film (Kick Ass) was about to start. The film was OTT violence and bad language - but was so slick and fast moving it didn't put me off. Both my daughter and her partner enjoyed it.
I'm away from tomorrow for a couple of nights visiting my daughter. I'm also hoping to see my grandson - but I'm not holding my breath, as I have issues with my daughter in law. Consequently, I might not be able to post Bike for a couple of nights.
I thought I'd say this formally, then if it pops out in conversation no one will be shocked (although to quote Maggie Thatcher, who is probably the opposite of everything I believe in, may shock some).
I have a baby grandson born yesterday by Caesarean section. Mother and baby are doing well as is the father, my son.
I'm far too young to be a granny, but se la vie!
(Does this mean I have to start wearing long black dresses, sitting in a rocking chair while knitting for the Red Cross? If so, bugger that for a game of sojers, I'll stick with riding and writing Bike(s)).
