I tried to sleep, but if I got any it was brief and fitful. I was a bit of a wreck the next day. Dennis understood and went easy on me. Mikey seemed to think I was hung over, and it seemed easier to let him think that. For whatever reason he went easy on me too, I was grateful.

I was sitting on the balcony just enjoying the warm sun and gentle breeze, maybe I was dozing in and out. Mikey came up behind me and gave me a gentle hug.

“I just wanted to say thank you for last night. ….and for everything actually.”

Ally came to see Gaby, “We have been talking it over with the Psychologist. All most all of our old town carried the same genes as us. Until now none of us gave it much thought.”

Justine, “I could arrange for everyone in the country to under go a test if you want. If positive we will have to move them all here.”

Rani, “These Signals are what you already have & these are where we need to put transmitters for the best reception. The best reception for Australia would actually be on Ayres Rock. I cannot see how we could hide one there.”

Gaby, “All we need is the transmitter in a crag or crevice. The rock will act as a transmitter. I know this because I tried it closer to home with a black spot I had & it worked.”

It was the last week of February when Jenken was released from the hospital. The doctors cautioned Jane to be vigilant. Although Jenken seemed to be doing well with little noticeable affects of the pre-natal brain injury, seizures were always a possibility. Also, due to his premature birth his immune system might be compromised so they were cautioned be sure to keep him indoors and away from sick people until he grew stronger.

Rose, “I know where we can get it in Leeds if it is OK with you Miss Alexis.”

“OK first though we have the clinic with Helen I hate this daily visit.”

Allison said, “Well soon neither of us will have to come here much longer as we will be better.”

They drew up outside the clinic on Clarendon road. “Look there is mummy with Aunt Helen.”

Ruth walked with Rona to Doyle after class, the doctors were going to start removing the tattoos that night, and they'd be able to tell her how soon she'd be tattoo free after they were done the first treatment. She rubbed her arms wondering what she'd look like with unblemished skin.

Her friend opened the door for her and walked to the nurses station. “Hi, my roommate, Ruth is here for an appointment,” Rona said.

During the Friday after Thanksgiving fifteen year old Jane Raven was working in the family restaurant just like she did nearly every day. The pretty girl had become quiet and shy since she’d been drugged and date raped. As the second trimester was coming to an end, the increasingly active child inside filled her with love and concern for the child. She was at the cash register having just finished ringing up a customer when loud voices echoed throughout the dining area.

It’s sex, its great sex and not a huge marathon but somewhere between a quickie and normal sex. It’s always good. I get a triple play this morning one for her by oral and two the old fashioned way before she gets me to my own home run.

Mikey was quiet and somewhat sullen as we walked outside to wait for our limo. I squeezed him into a close hug.

“I know you think this is the end. It's just the end of your coming out. Your introduction. You made impressions in there. So when you come back in act two, the players will recognize you as one of their own.”

Mikey looked up at me. “Do you really believe that?”

I nodded to him and turned to Dennis, who also nodded.

“I'm family, so I'm biased. ...AND... I'm here only because you let me be your plus one on your contest prize.”

I woke up without any pain.

My body was numb, not like I was drugged, but like what happens when you stay up too long and your body craves sleep. Slime encrusted my eyes, making it impossible to open them. From the cold, wet feeling, the slime covered my face, even opening my mouth didn't seem possible.

Alexis held her hand out and said, Alexis Middleham or to be exact Lady Middleham. Madam Lord Percy has been on my back about having Lady Allison as a junior reporter. Alexis, “As you can see she is very week and had to have a considerable amount of blood,”

Leah is having problems adjusting, but then she meets someone unexpected. Will this meeting help or hurt? Leah's adventures continue.

I woke up in pain.

My leg and hip felt fine, but my right hand was icy cold and cramped. Mrs. Jones was sleeping at my side, blood smeared on her clothes, still she was smiling peacefully. Easing myself out of bed, I found I was dressed in a nightgown. For at least the tenth time I wondered what was up with people constantly putting me to bed and changing my clothes every time I was injured. Raising the hem, I saw my leg was perfectly healed without even a mark. My hand wasn’t so lucky.

It was hard to walk as I followed the whisp. It was hard to breath. I ignored everything around me, trying to bring the pain under some kind of control.

I was resting that afternoon cleaning Crier, trying to control the anger that filled me, when a whisp came to the garden. I looked away from the images running over it’s surface that reminded me of home tugging at my soul. “Lead the way,” I said, looking at the light beneath it.

The next morning I counted the days since I'd arrived, it was hard with how time moved so strangely. It didn't help that when I slept I spent time training with Crier, sometimes figuring out when I'd actually slept and when I'd been awake was difficult. Still, I had a pretty good guess that it was my birthday.

Mikey and I were sitting over iced teas and snacks discussing our 'Asia blitz'. He seemed a little distracted.

“....What?....” I asked him.

He shook off his distraction and glanced at me. “Huh?”

“You seem distracted. Penny for your thoughts.”

“US or Australian?” he laughed hollowly.

I simply raised an eyebrow and cocked my head.

“....I was just thinking.... it's been a pretty wild ride... way more than I expected.... than either of us expected?”

My nod was as understated as his declaration. He laughed again. It still sounded conflicted.

Morning, August 22nd, 2007

Head Mistress Carson was sitting in her office, remembering the wonderful, if short, visit to New York, after visiting a new student in Pittsburgh. The paperwork wasn't quite the mountain it would be in less then two weeks when the students arrived, but it was steadily building up. As she thought about the coming year, Carson gave a silent wish that it would be easier then the last one, there wasn't much hope for that, but she could dream.

Two things, first this is fanfiction and has nothing to do with canon Whateley.
Second, the happy gas used by Glitch, is a drug that works extremely fast, and when something similar to it was put into rats and they could give themselves a dose of it by pressing a button, they pressed it as often as they would forget to eat and sleep. Everything that occurs due to an addiction from it is real.
So yeah, don't modify your body to put out an aerosol spray of the stuff.

Crawling out from under the wagon, Hannah struggled to rise up; looking about in the early light of morning, she could not see any sign of Gideon. She was feeling out of sorts, as she made her way to the fire to replenish the wood to begin cooking their breakfast.

Arden climbed down from her wagon and came to assist Hannah. “You look a mess this morning, did you have trouble sleeping?”
