I'm beginning a coming-of-age tale to help celebrate the publishing of Wildcat Summer as a Kindle book. I've rewritten it to hopefully improve it. I've also added more in one volume

Ouch!

I wonder if her hair's okay. I had the impression the father was going to shave it off, first thing.

Thank you for the chapter. Looking forward to the next.

Hair

Isn't that the first thing a woman thinks about... is my hair all right?

No, it's not. I think she's going to have both mental and physical scars from this tragedy. But hair grows back and mental health can get better.

But it would be too easy to simply kill him off, right?

Viciousness

Knows no bounds, especially when the victim is helpless and cannot fight back.

Victim

Helpless is a good word to use when we're talking about physical abuse. And while I don't want to make this story about abuse and helplessness, I do want a Phoenix, a rising from the ashes to become better...

Sometimes the Old Testament has the right idea…….

An eye for an eye sounds like a good idea for people like the father in this tale.

They say that inmates in prison don’t take kindly to those who have abused children. We can only hope that he gets put into general population, and that what he did to his child gets out to the other prisoners.

Dum Vivimus, Vivamus

Hmmm

I agree with what you've said, but this world is far from fair and well, it would be took easy to kill the boogyman off in the early chapters. Still wondering what his punishment will really be.
