I could never pass
I don’t even try. Trying and not passing would hurt too much. But if they even let you in the door then you must be close. At least you are trying. You have my admiration.
Just smile
Smile and say, "Well, I'm not trying to fool anyone. It's obvious I'm not a man."
Hugs,

Don't pass?
"Oh, you mean the collection plate? I'm so sorry."

Add me to the list of admirers for the amount of bravery it takes to do it. Try not to let the limitations of others' ability to deal with things outside their narrow little worldviews get you down, though admittedly they really do make it hard sometimes. <3
Passing is over rated.
Acceptance is much better than passing. Passing involves being concerned that no one find out about it. Acceptance is without fear of discovery. Acceptance says, yes, you are you and different than me and my friends and family, and we love you anyway.
Dorothy, the posts you've made regarding the interactions at your church definitely point out that you have acceptance. Enjoy it. Bask in it. Rejoice in it.
Hugs
Patricia

Re: Passing is overrated
Passing and acceptance are unique to each person. Example: if your life means meeting many strangers then being able to pass convincingly is a valuable thing. You may have acceptance from your family and friends but if the stranger you just met decides to give you the beatdown he thinks you so richly deserve for being one of "them" then that acceptance is not going to help you at all.
I don't have much acceptance in my life but I can pass, whick works well for me.
