You Must Remember This: "Forceful" and Memories

Taxonomy upgrade extras:

Author:

For anybody interested in the nature of memory, and especially for those with traumatic memories, there is an amazing article in the March 2012 issue of Wired magazine. Entitled, “The Forgetting Pill Erases Painful Memories Forever”, it tells of research into a memory-specific eraser, of sorts. But even more fascinating are recent discoveries in memory research: That any memory–even those associated with trauma resulting in PTSD–is not fixed and immutable. Memories are not solid, unchangeable fact.

Our state fair is a great state fair,
Don’t miss it; don’t even be late.
It’s dollars to doughnuts
That our state fair
Is the best state fair in our state!

About my story "Our State Fair"

Folks who've read my recent story "Our State Fair" may be interested in some of the background information that I, uh, fictionalized. As one commenter on my story has noted, a uterine transplant was apparently performed in Turkey last year. The medical communities of several countries are, in fact, vying to be the first to perform viable uterine transplants; I thought I'd make it easy on them by having the transplant occur between siblings. But now let's talk about food ...

New Karin Bishop book at Amazon!

I have a new ebook, "The Haight", exclusively at Amazon for Kindle. It's part of the Kindle Select program, which means Amazon Prime members can get it for free.

It's the story of ...oh, heck--here's the link:
http://www.amazon.com/The-Haight-ebook/dp/B006SU6R4Y/ref=sr_...

"The Haight" is set in 1967 San Francisco, and is more mainstream than some of my other books; TG is only one of several elements in the story. It has famous, real-world people in it as well as fictional characters, and is as historically and socially accurate as possible.

Stephanie James is another that seems to be MIA; she doesn't seem to be on BCTS, FM, or C'SS!

I have just uploaded a new ebook, "Fool Moon", to both Amazon/Kindle and Lulu (EPUB & PDF). Probably be available in 24-48 hours. Another labor of love gone out into the world ...sigh ...

It's a tale of a high school graduate with no prospects who agrees to repay a debt owed to ...well, sort of a witch ...
He discovers that he has Power, and he learns that the Power is transforming him into ...well, sort of a female ...

It combines magic and history; BCTS readers were very favorable to my stories "Breath of Life" and the most recent "The Story of My First Lives". I hope you enjoy it!

Karin Bishop on Stardust

Author:

Just wanted to say that I've dipped my toe in the waters at Stardust. Some PMs have asked about early writings and so I've posted "Cross-Country". It's kinder and gentler, in keeping with Stardust policies, and it's one of my earlier TG stories. Re-reading before posting surprised me about some of the tropes and elements I've used later, but there are still some nice people in it. If you have comments or critiques, let me know here on BCTS rather than Stardust because I'm more comfortable with the BCTS system.

Enjoy the story!
