Look around, around
Yeah I've been out in the city just like Freddy suggested.
So, a shorter update today after the delayed midweek epsipode, just three days of Maddylife.
Friday, apart from the photo blog, was mostly spent running, recovering from running and going to the shop - exciting not! An update on the running though, I am still slowly increasing the percentage of actual running on my circuit, instead of run 200, walk 50 that I started with, its more like run between 500 and 1000, walk 50ish now, the running pace hasn't really improved, I'm just doing more of it. I think by the end of the month i'll be running the full 7.8km route, i'll have to decide then whether to go for faster or longer, I'd really like to be doing 10km and going faster but I'm conscious that I stopped running before for a reason and I don't want to get back to that position.
Which brings us to Saturday, my weekend bike ride day. After the long ride on Thursday, I planned on something a bit shorter and with a change in wind direction, decided to visit the coast. Out along the Portway to Avonmouth, through the Gordano Valley to Clevedon then across the levels to Sand Bay just north of Weston super Mare for my sandwich stop. The sun was out and even with the onshore breeze it was quite pleasant so I camped on the dunes above the beach for the full gritty sandwich experience!
Then it was along the coast through WsM before cutting inland to start the journey back to Brizzle. I seem to find a different route through the lanes every time and this time was no exception as I took a wiggly route from Churchill across to Chew Stoke and on towards Keynsham, slipping through 100km along the way. Then it was a fairly straightforward ride via the Bristol Bath path most of the way until sheer numbers forced me to divert onto the still quiet roads to base. 130km bagged which pushed the weeks total to an impressive 420km total!
And so to today, Sunday has become 'short(er) hike day' and so I set off for a gentle ramble in the warm sunshine. Over the lump to Hanham Lock then I followed the River Avon downstream towards Bristol. On the plus side it was warm and level (apart from the excursion along the Panorama Path), on the minus, it was quite busy along the path with limited picnicking options so once again I ate on the hoof. The last leg involved a steep climb out of the Avon valley and back north to my start point, 15km / 9 miles in 3 hours walking!
I'll do a photo blog of today, tomorrow when I also hope to have another 2nd edit ready for Kindle.
With the forecast looking dry and getting warmer, the programme looks unlikely to change much this next seven day.
And so to writings. I'll be cracking on at the KB tomorrow but today you can read Close Thing, chapter 18 of Summer Loving, the 21st Gaby volume. Will our Gab's prove victorious and just what is going on outside of the window?
Well that's about it, hopefully a normal posting after Wednesdays hike which is planned to go up river from where I joined it today.
Until then

it sounds like you are making lots of progress
and the pictures this time are great too.
It looks like a nice countryside and I'm impressed that it looks so far away from the hustle of a city.
huh
And here I was thinking you were interested in my writing!
That dress is really comfy for walking but I must admit that it does reveal rather a lot of decollage! Maybe I should stick to a burkah

Wot! No swimming?
I'm sure that your fans would like to see the swimsuit edition Te-he.
Not thinking of Triathlon are we?
With the running and riding, you are 2/3rds the way there... ( :) :) )
Perhaps Gabby might like to try it?
Samantha
don't worry
The population are safe from that, I swim so well they named fish after me, flounder for one! I did do a company triathlon @ 30 years ago, running 1st, cycling 1st, swimming - well I almost drowned! But with my advantage before actually won the event but it was unanimously decided I should stick to dry land in future!
I do like the odd paddle though but not in a river like the Avon, moorland streams are more my thing or a gentle Baltic sea.
