I believe I read "Peaches" the first time when it was just out. I was likely in the middle of my own very traumatic emergence and likely did not enjoy it as much as I should have.
So, yesterday I downloaded it to my PC Kindle and read it again. It is a lovely and uplifting story and I enjoyed it very much indeed.
Perhaps in a generation or two, many of those who now go through surgery, will simply live the way that Peaches and Melissa did, by doing a role reversal where it counts. I would likely still have the castration and take Estrogen, but put sperm back to save it for the children. For me, the Testosterone made me feel like a full on nutter, so would be quite happy to be rid of that. There would still be the unresolved question of how to satisfy the other half and I can't say how that would be worked out.
Very nice book Angela.

Agreed in full!
I read it going in without expectations then started to read what Mel was thinking and believed the story was going to be a typical feminization story. But it was so different than any other story I had read that it hooks you in deep. The real storyline for the book is buried under the ever changing narrative and it takes a bit to show but it's pretty smartly done and just adds to the story on a larger level.
Angela did an amazing job on the book and the series that I hope she is able to continue until all the characters graduate if not longer.
I'm told STFU more times in a day than most people get told in a lifetime
Thank You
Peaches was a true collaboration. Amelia had a general idea for a story. I did most of the first drafts. We agonized over the detail.
Sky was mine. I had fallen in love with the Peaches characters. Amelia had moved on to working mainly with Julie O. I wanted to see what they would do next. It wasn't as much to write as the first book, so continuing as a series is out of the question.
Thank you for your interest in the story.

It Is So Nice
It is so nice to know that Peaches is still working for its readers. When we write it we submitted a non-tg version to about one hundred literary agents. They told us that our message about bullying didn't ring true. I guess we were about a decade early.
Thank you for your comments.
The nice thing about Peaches is that it has provided a bit of financial support for BC. Erin get all the proceeds to help with the site.

"didn't ring true"
As in, was about "a problem that no one was yet ready to admit existed" at the time.
>i< ..:::
I reread peaches about once a year
Shannon's Course too.
Thanks Angela, great stories.
