Well, thanks to all the loving support I get here, I'm doing better. Now with that crisis behind me (hopefully), I wanted to talk about my boy name. I'm not sure why I've been so reluctant to share it, going so far as to create a pseudonym even in my autobiographical story "night entries". I'm gonna have to mull this one for a bit.

I like the name you go by now.
I haven't used my masculine names since January 19th, 2000. I have been happier since then. It was my way of saying that the masculine name has hindered me for long enough.
I orefer Jill and when people call on the phone and ask for me by my masculine name I tell them he is no longer around.
My real friends call me Jill. I consider you as Dorothy and IMHO I really don't want to know your masculine name.
Dorothy is just fine with me in all aspects.

Maybe this will help...
...my 'boy' name is Douglas. I'm named after my mother's brother; the man who molested me and my sister. I hate the name; I always have, but it is what it is, and I can't change the past. At the same time, I'm not my uncle, nor was I ever anything like him. I chose the name Andrea when I began to write because I just loved the sound of it. I later found out that it can mean warrior. I've been told that I'm a battler; tenacious and unwilling to give up.
Whatever your boy name is (yes you've told me) your name is Dorothy, which in the Greek, Dorothea, means gift of god. Anyone who knows you will attest to the gift that you are to them and others. Redeemed and called by a new name, dear one!

While I've told several people here my boy name ...
I do not think you need to share it here in the open with any of us. If you wish to do so on an individual basis do so, but do not feel you have to.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

Thanks to you all, and about my boy name.
Why not use Dotty instead of your boy's name?

I don't understand
You've posted your male name in this blog more than once, I think, and even remarked on its connection to your feminine name.
I may have at that
but I used a pseudonym when doing "night entries", and I wasnt really sure why

Boy names? Boy names are for boys...
My boy name is Daniel. While I'd rather I was a girl, I'm okay with it, for a boy name. When I was younger, I didn't like the feminine form of it, though. I don't know why. I just didn't like Danielle. So I chose Lisa some 30 years ago for my femme name. Don't know why there, either. I didn't know any Lisas until recently, didn't have a crush on any Lisa celebrities. Just liked the name. But this last decade, I've started to like Danielle too.
Was talking to my sweetie the other week, and said I now kinda like both, and she suggested I use Lisa Danielle. Brilliant! I may phase that in over time. Dunno yet. Right now, a few places I chat at as Lisa, I'd told some folks I knew better that my "real name" was Danielle, and they often call me Dani for short now, the last few years. It's growing on me...
Lisa Danielle
(trying it out)

In the real world, your "boy name" is something you may need to use on a regular continuing basis. It may even be something that will remain with you forever.
However, BCTS is a place that you can be Dorothy full time. It is the place you can call home and be accepted by your sisters, cousins, and friends as the girl you are or the girl you wish to be. Here you can feel free to be that girl without criticism or regret. So unless it is absolulely necessary for your safety, health or well being, there is no need for you to reveal your boy name to us.
