I'm not sure whether to be happy or not. Okay... I'm happy, but I'm sad because the first book of The Arctic Fox is going to be coming down from BCTS, at least for awhile, as it is going to be moved to Kindle in the next few weeks.
I'm definitely happy about that.

It's coming down...

Doesn't sound fun. I remember driving from Laredo to Houston one winter, in the freezing rain. Wasn't a good situation, as my trailer was empty. I had no idea at that time, how many arroyos were in Texas, necessitating bridges, but everyone would drive at 60+ mph, until they got to a bridge, then slow down to 35mph. I quickly learned to have my foot ready to hit the break (lightly) at a moment's notice. It was not a fun thing to try to slow down an empty flatbed on a dime.
I hope you all are safe! and keep warm!

Dates and COVID
Congratulations on having your book published. I hope that it does well.
Out of curiosity, could you tell me how you dealt with the date 'problem'? The book is set in 2020-2021, but it doesn't mention COVID 19. So, did you change the dates so that the story is set in, say 2018-19, or did you just leave it as is? Either is fine, but I just wonder what you decided.

The Arctic Fox is set in a world where COVID doesn't happen. Originally, it was a short story, but I realized there was a long way to take the story. However to make a world where the base Co's daughter could be trans, it had to be pretty recent.
Certainly, I could have put COVID into the story, but when I started working on it, I had no idea where the virus was going, and I didn't want to extend it any longer than I had to. The storyline is now in late fall of 2021, and will continue for at least another 3 years. Will COVID continue to be a problem for that long? No idea, so to have it in the story seemed impractical.
The hope is that the story will continue into Marcia's career, which is why I say at least 3 more years. She's 15 now, and I know what that career will be, but writing it will present several challenges. Will she live that long (as in the story, not Marcia)? I hope so. Will COVID? I hope not.

Thank you very much!
Thank you very much! I'm working much slower on this book, as I hate it when the 2nd part doesn't do justice to the 1st, and so on.
The next chapter should be this week, however.
Hugs!
