Okay...

For a bit there I was concerned Danna had been somehow subverted. Wu'laujan is dangerous because she is crazy and clever.

Danna's will is strong though, and it seems she was only trying to carefully walk a line between allowing Wu'laujan to subvert her, in an attempt to gain knowledge from the link, and resisting the mana to keep her own will free.

I wonder what Baed just did to Kevin. I hope nothing like what Irkalla wanted, stealing his body for her Master to inhabit?

Abigail Drew.

The old-fashioned way.

Wu knows that Danna's power is beyond her, so she's getting it done with some good ole' propaganda brainwashing. But don't worry, it's not like she's had centuries to hone that technique. :P

I'm keeping Baed's motives in the dark for now, but I will drop a small hint. He didn't have any at the start of the story. Whatever he wants, it was brought on by Teijurzi's visit to that tiny village where he was content to live a nice, peaceful, hermetic life. She just keeps meddling, doesn't she?

Okay, one more hint: Baed answers to no one, and woe to whomever tries to change that. Yet another top-tier power with his own motives to throw into the mix. Even more to keep track of.

Thanks so much for the comment!
