Seriously, it took a lot longer for them to get here than I anticipated, but the story demanded to be told the right way. I hope it was worth the wait.

This is an epic story, and those don't unfold all at once. They take time to reach fruition and often have numerous side stories to confuse matters. All I'll say just now is a hearty 'Well done!' and watch for future developments.

Bigger story this time around.
That's pretty much why I switched to an ensemble cast with multi-POVs. It allowed me to show other characters in the light and create a more intricate plot. Plus it's fun!

That is the big question!
That is the question, among other things :), but it certainly looks like it. Some answers like this one will be revealed in the next few chapters. Some more questions will pop up too, but you expect that by now, right?
And, yes, Amber's deus ex machina line in the beginning of the chapter was me foreshadowing, just misplaced. That also tends to happen a lot in my writing. :D
