Graduation 2010: A Whateley Fanfiction Story

Printer-friendly version

This is a Whately Academy Fanfiction. A short story of what happens at Team Kimba's graduation. Caution: This story contains non graphic death destruction and mayhem. All of the characters and settings belong to those that own them, I make no claim to any of them. Enjoy it at your own risk.

PS: No Spider-rats were harmed in the writing of this story. (Why does my browser know the correct spelling of Spider-Rats?)

Jade walked up to the stage and stepped over to the podium, she looked the same as she had when she first arrived almost four years earlier. Jann-Sensei levitated her up so she could see over the top of the podium. She held back a grimace as she gazed over her classmates. Lancer was easy to pick out, he and Ayla were the only two males left in the class, and he had spent his Junior year as Hannah.

The rest of the class, at least the formerly male half, had over the course of four school years been transformed into girls. There were spells gone awry, new spirits attached to Avatars, Jobe had changed a dozen or so including himself, BIT accidents, BIT slicer accidents, curses, and even one case ruled as Spontaneous Gender Switching. Everyone had changed but Jade. Jade had tried everything she and anyone else could think of, but her body continued to revert to the way it was when she arrived.

"I'll try to keep my comments short," she told the audience. "Firstly I want to congratulate everyone on graduating from Whateley Academy, even those of you on the five year plan." Belphegora snarled at that comment. Second I want to thank the staff for getting us all through this. And finally, I'm sorry onee-san. J-Team Attack."

With that statement, Shroud, Jasmine, the Jamie Fly Specks, Jacki, Jeri, and many others began attacking and slaughtering the students, staff, friends and family in the auditorium. The rest of Team Kimba rushed the stage and tried to get her to stop, but she refused. When Team Kimba finally attacked Jade, the J-Team took them down quickly and ruthlessly. Jade had learned back in Team Tactics, Ayla had a plan for everyone. Unfortunately for Ayla's plans, Jade had kept much of her growing abilities from her teammates.

Unlike most mutants, whose powers grow slightly while they mature, Jade's power had grown exponentially. The number of castings, the duration of each casting, the distance each part could be from the rest, and most importantly the strength. Jade literally had a group of unkillable death machines at her beck and call.

In less than hour it was over, and the J-Team hovered around Jade, as she sat cradling Tennyo's lifeless head in her lap. They looked at her expectantly as she whispered, "We know what I have to do. Go and finish the rest."

For ten days Jade sat unmoving on that stage cradling Tennyo's head, surrounded by the corpses of her only friends. Then she began returning, and finally when the last Jamie Flyspeck was back, she knew that she was the only living human left in the solar system. She took a deep breath and started on their last task.

Jade removed the ring that Toni had given her, the Mithril ring that would affect her castings. She began casting herself through the ring and into the earth itself, every last member of the J-Team including Jann-Sensei. Jade passed out as she began disintegrating every man-made object on the planet, returning it the plants and animals.

The task finished, Jade slowly starved to death, her regeneration fighting a desperate battle to keep her alive. The last human being on the planet died, leaving it for a new intelligent race to evolve or find.

If you mean

Why did Jade do it?

he rest of the class, at least the formerly male half, had over the course of four school years been transformed into girls. There were spells gone awry, new spirits attached to Avatars, Jobe had changed a dozen or so including himself, BIT accidents, BIT slicer accidents, curses, and even one case ruled as Spontaneous Gender Switching. Everyone had changed but Jade.

If you meant why did I write it?

I just was reading the stories, and the number of male characters that were becoming female in and around the campus made me wonder if any would still be boys by graduation, and what that affect would be on Jade.

Plus Jade is easily the most evil and powerful character in the Whatelyverse.

it is what it is

The why the write part.

Jade may be really really powerful, but there are several mechanisms if portrayed which could easily defeat her.

Something similar to Rom the Space Knights neutralizer
A thought virus or curse similar to the one wheeler uses on patrick in Eric Nylund's signal books.
Causing her to go out of phase with everything where she could no longer interact with what's around her.
psychic mind control of a power level strong enough to overcome the regen
An offspring killer spell like the one used on the dragon and its descendants in order of the stick.
sticking her in a time loop she on her own couldn't escape from
Time travel to prevent her being born
Time travel to implement a solution before she went rogue

Jade could have been stopped. Just because she's a star player in the series doesn't mean she couldn't or wouldn't be dealt with to the point where she would be taken out.

It just sucks that the main authors in Whately seem to have dropped the universe so we're in limbo on most of the main chars.

The problems with stopping Jade...

Problem #1, Figuring out who is doing it. It's not like Jade is hovering over NYC maniacally laughing, she is sitting in a forest in New Hampshire.
Problem #2, Finding Jade once you figure out who it is. The J-Team is out killing everyone, and Jade is in New Hampshire all alone. There are no X-Men Mutant detecting machines out there.
Problem #3, The J-Team can see and identify mutant auras, so she can see, ID, and prioritize targets. Once all the mutants are dead, the baselines don't stand a chance.

To take your solutions, I am unfamiliar with exactly what they are, but most of them require the finding of Jade or require some sort of time travel. Time Travel, at least into the past, is not allowed in the Whateleyverse, and I've laid out the problems of finding her. Even then putting Jade out of phase, doesn't stop the J-Team.

Sorry about lack of references

I don't have a problem with the story you presented. I can see the frustration being vented about how the universe has just been left to whatever by the original authors. I commented with ways to defeat Jade as an exercise in how one would do so.

The problems you raised are valid ones. It would make discovering the cause and finding solutions hard, but not impossible.

Sorry for putting unfamiliar references. I should have provided the source. It's a bad habit of mine I need to break.

Rom the Space Knight's Neutralizer -- http://marvel.wikia.com/Rom's_Neutralizer

Thought Virus -- http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MindVirus

Out of Phase -- See the variation part -- http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/InvisibleMainChar... -- This could mean that both her and J-Team are now out of phase and suffer the same limitations, or it may be that she is out, but J-Team is normal as usual.

Psychic mind control -- You have to read a bit. The char Deadpool can be mind controlled, but it's not easy in part due to his regen. Low strength mind-control could have a hard time with the regen'd brain cells. In Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, Deadpool does pretty much the same thing that Jade does in Whately -- http://waysofteaandfailure.blogspot.com/2012/07/the-marvel-u...

Offspring Killer Spell -- http://oots.wikia.com/wiki/Familicide -- Requires finding a still living relative Jade is descended from, but it would mean instant death for Jade. This negates having to know where she is, but would just shift finding her to finding a still living relative she's descended from.

Time Loop -- Not exactly time travel but it could be(Groundhogs Day, Sawtooth Snap - http://www.mjyoung.net/time/timeprim.html), or might not be(Stargate s4ep06 Window of Opportunity where time outside the loop passes for the equivalent of the total time experienced by those in the loop.) -- http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GroundhogDayLoop

I know outright Time Travel is verboten in the universe, but if it was not, it'd be the easiest way to stop Jade or a character with the same powers of Jade and have a story out of it. This would not necessitate an end of Jade or an equivalent char. She could be warned which would be enough to prevent her taking that course of action.

Here's a premise of a story I thought up of.

You have some being from Earth. An astronaut with an FTL capable power, magic, space suit, starship(Mechanism isn't important, just the trope). Before Jade's massacre, they left the solar system temporarily to visit somewhere else. Post Jade, they return and find nothing left of humanity on Earth. No evidence at all. Not even space junk. The char is like WTF, am I in the twilight zone. They head back out, they make contact with another alien, or they make contact with a dimensional based being(Fey, Demon). Again the mechanics aren't important, just the effect. They then gain access to the knowledge of what occurred, or access to a means to find it out. This could be object psychometry, a remote past time viewer, clairvoyance of some sort, but how doesn't matter just that it does. The person then goes on a quest to find a way to fix this. This char does not want to be the last of their race so they are desperate. They gain knowledge that there is a means of time travel. They complete quest whatever that may be for access to this one shot time travel. With a knowledge of what occurs, they travel back in time. They then work to effect a change. Jade never murders everyone. They meet the version of themselves in this universe, and as the trope goes when you meet your time traveller self from the past or future, you must fight to the death. They kill each other.

No one but Jade knows how close she came to destroying everything... Jade waits for a later time. Kills everyone anyway.

Lesson Learned: Time travel is redic.

Tennyo would likely hesitate,

Tennyo would likely hesitate, she loves Jade like a sister. The only other people she loves more are probably her parents, she certainly is more fond of Jade than of Thad.

Jade would then take Tennyo apart at the chemical level, simultaneously reducing the body to a pile of chemicals.

When this story occurs, Jade is crazier than she was when she attempted SRS on herself, but the human race is the target.

WOW!

I'm stunned.

are you sure

you did not miss posting this by a month and 7 days?

it not...

an april fools story? Jade would never do that. it just so out of character.

First thing

First thing I thought too. I double-checked the date to see if had been pulled out of the archives and reposted.

I went outside once. The graphics weren' that great.

We are talking about the same

We are talking about the same Jade. The girl that flips a coin to see whether she will be an Ultra Violent or Pacifist? The girl that completely mutilated her body in an attempt to cut out the boy parts. The girl whom after she nailed Bloodwolf to a tree and had him completely helpless burned "I attack little girls" into his chest (permanently). The girl that traveled with Tennyo to Colorado as a Cabbit plush, with enough weaponry hidden inside it to help Tennyo free her parents. The same girl that hacked her way through a Syndicate Base, animating the corpses of those she killed to give her a bigger army so she could kill more of them.

< sarcasm>She would never flip out and kill everyone on the planet.< /sarcasm>

Jade is easily one of the least stable and most dangerous members of her class.

Yes those things taken out of context.....

.... could be seen as evil and sadistic.

BUT...

Flpping a coin to become an " Ultra Violent " hey if all of those factions were out to try to hurt me and my friends through me, I would do the same as there are serious consequences if the other students pick a fight with an " Ultra Violent ".

Bloodwolf a paricularly distateful caracter in any walk of life, simply put a " BULLY ", Yes what Jade did was extreme but seriously, I know I've wished to put people that have billied me in their place in a similar public way. Bullying is all about power and Jade took Bloodwolf's power away!!!!

Jade and violence to others, all instances that I remember of Jade being violent are a direct result of attacks on those who Jade considers to be freinds and family. Billie/Tennyo and family Jade sees them as her own family, and Team kimber are friends.

As to self mutilation that is a whole dfferent story, and I'm sure Jade saw the starting point as the mutilation to her body.

And Jade, is nowhere as dangerous as FEY, as demonstrated in th simms in the dark team kimber senarios, oh yeah don't forget the attempt at mind control on Tennyo in the simms and the way that the Gunny drove the message home to the sim team that attempted to get Tennyo to loose control.
Tennyo is Pure ANTI-MATTER

I never said that those things were evil or sadistic.

What they were, were extremely violent and ruthless. In those cases, she did what she had to do.

Remember in my story, Jade's powers (unlike every other mutants) has continued to grow. In three months or so, the duration and strength of Jinn had more than doubled, the number of castings had gone up to 5 from 1. At those rates by the time of graduation each casting would last about 3 weeks, and be able to exert over 200
tons of force. There are conflicting numbers for the strongest Brick, but it was well below 100 tons. In the Dark Jade sim, she wasn't taking it all that seriously, she was having fun.

Tennyo is not pure antimatter, if she was, every time she had a body part cut off it would explode, not fade away. Killing Tennyo for Jade at this power level is fairly simple, she simply casts Jane into her, and takes her apart at a chemical level. A Tennyo sized pile of chemicals won't regenerate.

Just to be clear

All I was agreeing with was the thought that this might have been an April Fools Day joke piece. Regarding the story itself I'll say nothing.

I went outside once. The graphics weren' that great.

No, I thought of this just a

No, I thought of this just a few days ago, when I realized how many guys had swapped gender during Jade's first semester or so. I figured at that rate, her class would have Ayla, Lancer, and herself left as the only physically male members by graduation. Then it was what would this do to Jade psychologically. She snapped and took it out on the human race.

Figures

Someone makes a wonderful world for creative artist to play. They played, grew bored and what ever made them split. Split from writing in Whateley anymore. They quit.

Well this is the period. The end. I hope not. At least be wild and have some substance not a giant self mutilation.

I do not believe with all the amount of different mutants there are. That you could easily defeat them with one team in such a short time if at all. So no Kutos today sorry...

I hope the rest of the artists or authors of this realm look at this piece.

Is this where all your work ends. Let it die, boringly. No hugs today, but hugs to all the fans like myself who feel cheated. Jackie Anna (but thank you Authors anyway, for the many hours and days of fun reading of the whateley series. It was a fun ride.)

I'm not a canon author, so

I'm not a canon author, so this is a Whateley "What If?"

Can I use "What If?" I think that Ayla would let me, but I don't know about Disney.

Guys...

For those who haven't been watching the site, there are more stories ready made, but they are awaiting posting of the stories that come before them.
