I need to apologise to anybody who got worried about my last post.
First a bit of an explanation. due to some passive-aggressive stuff by me, I ended up owing extra on my cable/internet bill, and could not pay it off this month.
I ended up rage-quitting with my provider, and then panicked that if I suddenly wasn't on for a while, people would worry about me.
instead, because all my manic energy turned into self-hate, my post was more likely to worry people.
I was already in the process of finding a new provider, so if there is a gap, it shouldn't be long.
Again, my deepest apologies for scaring people, and I am going to try and catch myself in those moods sooner so I don't say/do stuff that I'll regret after the fact.

We all fly off the handle from time to time. I used to do it and frankly, it was in hindsight, it was embarrassing. I have done less of it in recent years so there is hope for everyone.

Over here, this side of the Channel, I recently had a go at EDF for incorrect billing, or I should rather say fantasy-based bill.
This occurred after they had to change the meter the display of which had died.
After nearly a year trying to reach them through the "official" channel — i.e. landmail that will leave a track — I finally decided to contact the French regulator for Energy.
Then Bingo!
All was cleared within 8 weeks, the overbilling was erased and I even was granted a €50 bonus for my toils…
As long as no one is contending, they try their luck.
So, never give up hope.
I threw a wobbly
the other morning when I saw that my two kittens had helped themselves to a bag of munchies, which when I went to pick it up, emptied itself over the floor. By the time I'd cleaned it up, I'd calmed down but it was an hour later.

It's been freakishly warm in Minnesota this December.
One of the results of the warmer weather has been an increase in the number of rodents who have remained active and are seeking homes.
Two nights ago, a mouse ran across my living room. He didn't even have the decency to act like my presence bothered him. The next morning, letting my anger get the best of me, I went to the hardware store and spent over seventy dollars on traps and poisons.
Oh well. Since I bought so many traps I varied the bait. I'll soon be able to tell you which works best: chocolate, cheddar chees, blue cheese, or peanut butter.
Has anyone tried the electric traps? I sort of like the idea of giving the little pests the shock of their life.
I'm glad your situation is better than I'd imagined after your first post.

I’ve always found peanut butter…..
To work really well. However, I did have an instance when I lived in New Orleans where a mouse took a liking to some Cherry cough drops I had left in a drawer, lol. So I used those to bait a trap and it worked wonders.
I have never tried cheese - my parents always told me to use peanut butter.
As to the electric traps, I am partial to the old style mechanical traps myself. There is something satisfying in hearing the “SNAP!” when a mouse trips the trap.

Been there, done that. Way too embarrassingly many times ... I'm gonna be 70 y.o. just before March Equinox. Any hope of me "growing up" ... is fading fast.

I saw one of your FB Friends, maybe 2-3 weeks ago, offer guidance on your finances. Have a chat with them. Just Talking can help a lot, even if they don't officially "do anything". And, no, of course you Do Not give account numbers, just categories and amounts (Credit cards 1, 2, 3, expenses (utilities, food, gas, average monthly car window replacement cost, rent, - including the cheaper internet you're looking for, and such).
[1] I should talk. I'm $5,000+ in hock to the credit card leeches, and all my own fault ... 'Course, I could blame my car that decided it needed [mumble} in repairs ... Still ...
I do my "first pass" shopping at Aldi's USA. The stores near me went to all self-check-out, credit only stations, except for one live teller on a takes-cash station/till. The >interest< on my cards would pay for 1-1/2 weekly shopping trips.
[2] I'm wrong again ... After being many times a day for a lifetime, I should be 'used to' being wrong. I announced, in public (right there in my FB post of a few hours ago), that mumble was the best thing I was gonna do today. Wrong. This very note tops that other mumble - by a lot.
