UTI
My partner had them a lot for awhile. I won't go into why but I would suggest at the first sign of a burning irritation that 100% cranberry juice be consumed as much as possible until one can get medical help as cranberry juice will NOT kill off a UTI. It does however keep it at bay until you can get help.

hope you recover quickly
Sad. Sorry. Get well soonest.
Coupla things -
Take >all< of any prescribed antibiotics- but you know this.

Head on over to: https://nutritionfacts.org/, and do a search on urinary tract infections. That ought to be page: https://nutritionfacts.org/?s=urinary%20tract%20infections. Most of Dr Greger's videos are only 3-6 minutes, long; he is a hoot to listen to. His live audiences often 'chant along' with his 'catch phrases'. (Yeah, me too.)
Get the heck off of >all< neat, especially chicken. This very much includes handling and preparing >raw< meats; again chicken is the 'worst'.
Studies done on 'off the shelf' "grocery store chicken" have shown as much as 80% of it is contaminated with pathogens.
Other studies have shown that ordinary householders, even those with how-to education, care and training are pretty much incapable of preparing raw meat at home, again, especially chicken, without contaminating every surface in the kitchen ...

The 'bad cooties' we eat, or get into our guts because they're just ambient - they can straight through us, and out our back ends. (E-coli, benign or 'evil' is common). Remember all the hygiene tips we got in the early months of COVID? ... For 'regular' XX Ladies, it's only, what, about 10 cm, for the cooties to get into the urethra. For regular XY males (me), not much further. then, ouch! Sent me to the Emergency Room one time ...

You might want to shift your bathroom routine to do handwashing both before and after.
Get well Gwen
I have no medical advice to give, but I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers hoping for a speedy and full recovery. :DD

I wish you a speedy recovery.
I wish you a speedy recovery. 8 years ago I had crippling stomach pain. I was diagnosed with diverticulitis. I was on antibiotics for about a month. I had not recovered. My company forced me back to work. I was as weak as a kitten. Then had to drive 170 miles for a conference.
I had a fever that night in the hotel and hallucinated. The next morning my right testicle was the size of a tennis ball. Turned out that was a urinary tract infection. The antibiotics they gave me were of no use. When they changed them it cleared up in a few days.
Urinary tract infections can cause a lot of problems and spread.
Please take care x
