I've been interviewed many times by reporters. At least half the time it appeared the reporter had his story written before he talked to me and was merely talking to me to get colorful quotes to "complete" his preconceived notion.

This primarily occurred twenty to forty years ago.

FOX has done harm to the journalistic world. But it was a cesspool long before they came along. They've simply taken it to a new level.

I was once severely libeled. I sued and in the process deposed the reporter. He waited until my lawyer asked his last question and then said he wanted something added to the record. He said the story that appeared in the paper had been altered taking out the facts that supported my side of the issue. He said that someone broke into his computer and gave his story to the defendant in my lawsuit and allowed the defendant to make changes. The defendant was running for congress and had been endorsed by the newspaper.

Truth is often decided by the person who buys the ink.
