well kinda!
Not sure everyone would agree but the UK is currently enjoying a few days of actual summer weather, we could reach 30c in the next few days which doesn't happen very often on these rocks. our maritime weather generally precludes such temperatures outside of London!
So what've i been up to? Well on Thursday i took myself north along the Cotswolds then through Stroud before looping back to return via a lunch stop at Charfield. A relaxing day, most of the distance being done before it got too warm, all 110km of it. Once back i collected my serviced wheel and retrieved the Focus as they were unable to do the job, dang.
Friday was uneventful other than starting the process of plan D for the out of commision bike, that is stripping it down to as near a bare frame as possible, which is how the whole thing started, but now its so i can take the frame with the stuck parts for some, hopefully, final surgery. Of course, the strip down revealled more stuff that needs sorting, a damaged tyre, headset bearings that need replacing, more stuck bolts etc, etc. now i have a pile of bits, it could be a while before the bike returns to the road.
Yesterday was the christening for the fixed wheel, or rather it wasn't, fixed that is. It was clear right from the start of the ride that all was not as it should be and it went downhill from there. The decision to abort didn't save any km's, in fact trying to preserve things to get back actually added distance avoiding as much hill as possible. So tomorrow i'm back to the shop, they clearly didn't do the job properly, its worse now than when i first took it in, i'm not a happy Maddy!
Today, well i'm off for a walk shortly and of course i've posted the next Gaby chapter, Marketing, number 27 of book 24, Fame.
In other news, my cucumber is coming on nicely, we have a bumper pea crop, the spring onions are delish and i've planted up a pot with more strawberries!
More from Brizzle midweek,
for now though,

I live 20 miles nort of central London , so get the temperature the same. I hate the heat. When I was a child 22 degrees , 72F was considered a hot day. No one I knew owned a fan. No one really needed air con. Apart from the 1976 heatwave it was in the news if it got to 25 c.
Looking in the long range forcast, London may get 35 of 36 c - 96F next Sunday. I long for the cooler summers of yesterday. Just can't function in this heat.

ah, '76
the tar melted on local roads, the reservoirs were empty, glorious? uncomfortable. Then it rained, we were ready to throw a party but we had to wait until the Jubilee for that. How can that be 45 years ago?

Come to Norway
it is a lot cooler here. After three wet days, an orange thing appeared in the sky today. And for once, I have seen a good number of cyclists out and about. I passed at least 20 on the climb up the Trollstigen. You even get a cold shower halfway up to the snow field.

A tad warm indeed
Not compared with some places, but when one isn't used to it?
New chain job this morning, that I bought 3 years ago, had to go out in the sun for the working space. Run to the Household Waste Recycling Centre is postponed for now, in favour of nails and hair colour :-)
I do hope that Maddy's wheels keep turning at least under one frame or another.

Would be welcome
30° C or 86° F would feel quite welcome after it being 32° to 38° C, 90° to 100° F where I am currently in Florida. In fact it has been that warm for almost two weeks now and doesn't look like it will end any time soon.
Good luck with the bike repair.
Soon heading for 40 c.
