yep, true to form, the schools go back and the sun comes out!

After a few weeks of weather that has at best been 'not cold', the UK weather has acquired a more settled and dare i say it, quite warm demeanour. Of course we are now all complaining about the heat rather than wind or rain, the high twenties aren't exactly extreme but we haven't really seen their ilk this year so are unused to it. no doubt we'll be back to two jumpers and a rain coat soon enough but the forecasters think we'll see out this week in the heat and maybe break into the 30's over the weekend.

On Monday the heat was enough excuse to spend most of the day inside writing. So i got a chapter finished? think again, i gave up at tea time somewhat short of where i was aiming for but i'm still on track with my schedule.

Tuesday is ride day and yesterday was no different to usual. With a good forecast i set out for a steady ride into Wiltshire, when i say steady, not too hilly or too fast. I looped past Bath and Coirsham to the burger shed at Chippenham i favour - reasonable prices and seating. I usually end up with chips and but decided on a change, a breakfast baguette - two sausages, two bacon and two eggs in a long bap! Yeah, i know it doesn't sound like cycling food but it hit the mark.

Back on the road i took a laney route back across the Cotswolds as the heat increased from a comfortable pre lunch 22c to highs of 26/27c. Like i say, not excessive but when you are exercising at a useful level it can get a bit uncomfortable. It wasn't a long ride, a mere 62 miles and less than 800m of climbing but it was ample on the day.

And so to today. After doing the laundry and tidying up the garden a bit i settled down to finish Monday's chapter. It took a couple of hours but its done and posted to Patreon. I'll be hard at the keyboard (its much quicker when you can see the letters!) again on Friday.

Looking forward, i'll do another steady ride tomorrow and on Saturday i'll be off to watch the Tour of Britain as it travels some of the roads i regularly ride in south/east Gloucestershire.

So there you go, i'll be back with another Gaby chapter and more tales from the south west on Sunday.

Thats it for today,
Tschuss,
Madeline Anafrid
