those things above your eyes
I've been experimenting this week and its weird looking in the mirror and seeing myself with eyebrows. Let me clarify, I do usually have eyebrows but being blonde, and especially when they've been tidied up, you pretty much can't see them. Of course its hardly my first attempt at having something more noticeable above my eyes but I've often gone more Goth or caterpillar than the more delicate arches I've been applying this week.
So what do you reckon, keep or lose?
I've not spent the whole week in front of a mirror, I have made it out on the bike a couple of times. After overdoing it a bit on Monday, I decided on a less stressful ride on Thursday complete with a bacon sarnie and so I set off across the Severn for a quick scoot through the Forest of Dean. Whilst a bit breezy, it was reasonably warm, the sun peeking from the clouds on occasion as I headed for my bacon and egg breadcake washed down with a cup of tea.
Back on the road it was up to Lydney where I turned to follow the Dean Forest Railway up into the forest, up yes but at a steady rate - well trains don't climb steep! I continued past the upper terminus of the preserved line, turning onto the steeper climb that took me up to Coleford before descending to Monmouth down in the Wye valley. Then it was a steady ride down the river to Tintern Abbey where I called a halt for a late lunch stop.
Suitably fed & rested I set off for the last 30km leg, up hill first to reach Chepstow then back across the Severn and on to Bristol. A little over 120km, the shoulder aching but not as painfully as Monday which I rate a success as there was actually more climbing even if it was less steep.
Friday i ended up just going for some shopping as I was feeling a bit off but yesterday, Saturday I set off for another low impact ride. This time I headed inland, up onto the Cotswolds, that comprising the steepest climbing of the day. The southern bit of the Cotswolds are fairly benign, more rolling than hilly with a marked drop off as you move eastwards towards the upper reaches of the Thames. The wind was on my shoulder out to Tetbury and more behind as I made my way to the repurposed gravel pits that make up the water park and my lunch stop at Minety.
It was clearly going to be harder work on the way back, a steady gradually climbing route to Malmesbury and on through the lanes to the western flank of the Cotswolds. I seemed to be riding quite strongly so I dropped down to Warmley where I stopped for tea and cake by the bike path - I know its not far from base but its nice to only have another twenty minutes ride afterwards. In balance, it was a little longer than Thursday but slightly less up, however I was a chunk faster taking nearly 30 minutes less to complete the ride - now if only I could actually use the arm for more than holding on....
So to today, a lazyish day, laundry to catch the sun today rather than the wet tomorrow, posting here of course and after some lunch I've been corralled into doing some painting for Bev. Well its fresh air and I don't need two hands to wield the paint brush!
Of course there is Gaby for you, Wood Smoke is the penultimate chapter of Summer Girl and All in Ruins is the next part of Avoidance.
I think that's about it for now so adios mon amigos,

Eyes need accent
Maddy, if one's eyes don't have accent it's like looking at Mona Lisa. The lack of the little things makes great paintings but real life a lady needs those little assets, accessories, which makes one's face uniquely their own.
This is not criticism nor am I any kind of makeup artist. Just the simple opinion of a farm girl who truly has a mouth that is always saying things she shouldn't have let escape into the public. Add a brown to the eyebrows. Not a solid line but use a feathering brush and add a little arch. Daytime, a fine touch to an upper eyeliner and just a hint of extending it as the edge of the eye. One doesn't need to add eyeliner to the bottom of the eye for the understated, but enhanced look to bring a feminine look one's features. The lightest touch of mascara. Just to darken the eyelashes not extend them.
It's a soft approach so when meeting others they don't consciously notice but subconsciously think she has natural beauty
Hugs Maddy, stay safe. I worry about you. Two wheels means non one notices and you have to defensively be alert one hundred percent of the time. I have lights all over my bike, wear a florescent green safety vest and they still want to crowd my bike with their vehicles. Grew up riding two wheels and it has got progressively more dangerous out there. So much of the fun of riding is no longer there.

Eyebrows???
Those are not Eyebrows. Come on Maddy, you can do better than that. As Barbie says. your eyes need some definition and those brows don't even get off the starting block.

there's
more there than you usually get!
I don't think there's much hope, I've got eyeliner and mascara on and I still look like a ghost! Oh well, maybe i'll just save my sheckles and continue as plain Jane.

Without eyebrows
Without eyebrows one looks like anime character not a human. No need to make them black, make them brown, it will complement your blonde.
