I guess I had been oblivious to the fact and just found out that Pennsylvania's Secretary of Health, Dr. Rachel Levine, is transgender. A news article that appeared on a web site about things happening in PA told how she was helping the trans community by being open about her status. This while working to keep everyone safe during this "plague" with reminders about mask wearing and other safety precautions.

her very reasonable response to the pandemic, she has been vilified just for how the Commonwealth dealt with Covid. And while she received a great deal of transphobic invective before Covid, the hatred has grown since.

So very sad that that is happening.
She seems to very strong and at least in the video clip I saw, she was acting very strong through this terrible mess.
The haters are going to hate regardless how the rest of us think.
A Hero
She can stand shoulder to shoulder with Doctor Fauci.
It's amazing how people can be hated for simply doing their jobs to the best of their ability.
That says something about the immaturity of many in our nation.
