Well the last Gabycon was a couple of years ago now and whilst a success in itself I was thinking maybe it's time for a slightly different format.
So here's the pitch, a weekend event (natch), possibly based at a campsite (cheap accomodation for those that want it) with a ride or two taking in some nearby historic/museum/house etc, cafe lunch and evening meal, if possible with some sort of Gaby connection. Sounds familiar so far I guess.
If anyone wants to make it a longer trip (visitors from outside the UK for example) I can likely offer advice and possibly my services as guide.
The different bit is the entertainment, attendees will be encouraged to either write a Gabysode or bicycle related story in the genre to present during the 'open bike' event. Alternatively pick your favourite Gaby chapter to read. I'm also thinking that a Gaby themed Cosplay might be fun if you fancy a bit of a dress up.
I'd also like to do a Gaby cook in - possibly on the first evening, using some of Gaby's Anglo/German recipes.
Obviously the weekends events wouldn't be restricted to cyclists and day visitors will be welcome. So in effect it's the old Gabycon format with some new twists.
Location and date are not set yet (I am thinking June/July/August), I thought i'd put it out there first to see what people thought. So let me know what you think, if you have any suggestions or are interested either comment or PM me here.
I look forward to your thoughts
