It's the only excuse I can think of for why I haven't got the voting widget up for the All Souls Day Contest. The software is so crotchety it takes an enormous concentration to get it up and working right or you have to start all over. I'm not worthy.
Anyway, I will get it up and it will be up for a week and it's just unlikely to be this weekend like I wanted it to be. I used up a couple weeks allotment of concentration on fixing some website problems Friday and Saturday and all I want to do today is sleep and eat nachos.
Forgive me.
Hugs,
Erin

S'allright, Erin. At least now I know what I'm gonna have for dinner! :-)

Remove the eyes ...
... from a small red potato then slice into french fry like pieces with the skin still on. Put in a microwave safe bowl and sprinkle a teaspoon of water on them. Nuke for about a minute or minute and a half. Let them sit for a bit.
Fry a piece of bacon crisp or nuke it on a plate and pour the grease into a warm iron skillet with the heat on medium then pour the grease out into the trash onto the coffee grounds from the coffee you made earlier. Rinse and wipe the plate.
Pour any liquid off the potatoes into the sink and then add them to the greasy pan. Cook on medium for several minutes until they begin to brown on one side.
While they are cooking, beat an egg or two fluffy in that bowl with a bit of water. Chop some sliced onion into strings on the plate.
When the potatoes are golden on one side, add the onions and a big wad of medium hot chunky salsa and stir the mess together a few times. Continue cooking until onions are tender. Wipe the plate again.
Add egg and stir some more. Stop stirring. When egg is thoroughly done, turn the goop over, it should stick together pretty good. Sprinkle with crumbled bacon, garlic powder and cheese and allow the cheese to melt. Serve on the plate with unbuttered multi-grain toast, strawberry jam and coffee.
Think about how you could do this with the crumbs in the bottom of the bag of tortilla chips that you had intended to make nachos with. You'd have to cook the onions first then add the chip crumbs instead of potato. That would work. Maybe later in the week.
Hugs,
Erin

Erin, no biggie
Rest up, hope the smoke and the fires don't come your way.
You'll get to the voting thingy when you do.

rest, get better. The voting thing will wait.
With all the stories in the contest,
two or three more weeks would be much appreciated, at least from my viewpoint.

Crotchety Software
Ain't nuthin' worse than crotchety software. Heh!
I've had to modify some pretty bad software so I think I can relate. I hope all goes well when you finally feel up to the task.
Just take your time and make sure you're ready. Okay? :)

Crotchety Software
I use crotchety software every day.
Microsloth Office 2007 still thinks that good grammar is "I are", or that when someone is quoted as asking a question, the whole sentence should end with a question mark.
When working I had to use someone else's application for the software release management software. Just a full stop out of place and it would crash. What didn't make it any easier was that there were no rules about software code headers, so there was no way of being able to encapsulate all the possibilities for those absent-minded code monkeys to screw up with.
All in all, I salute your tenacity and only wish that something like BC didn't have to get so complicated--for you anyway.
My fingers shall remain crossed--all the time it is safe so to do.
Hugs and best wishes

I don't just look it, I really AM that bad...
Take care of yourself & get better!
Hey Erin ~
Thanks for all you do on this site - I'm terrible at figuring out if I'm ill or not and have to depend on other signs, such as you mentioned, to realize that I'm not operating up to par.
Hope you're feeling better soon!
