I got scary angry today and managed to break a shovel in half.

Sighs ... all the work I've done on trying to get a handle on myself, and I still do stuff like this ...

I totally understand..

Sometimes when things get to much and when you feel your temper start to flare, you really have to dig deep to try and stay calm..

I know I’m weird. The fact that I’m trans is probably one of the more normal things about me.

shovel in half

now gives you twice the handle on the situation. they say laughter is the best medicine. my poor joke properly does not help much, though every little bit helps. try not to dwell on the negative( of yourself or others ) because that is most likely all you will see. I hope things get better for you.

Bang on the drum all day...

full blast on a CD in my car roaring in rage does it for me.

Hey, Dorothy Colleen,

have you never heard of women breaking things in anger? It is more common than you think. As long as you did not break someones head along with the shovel you are fine.

In any case, it took me a long time to learn to transform anger into constructive energy and at 64 I still do not manage all the time. Sometimes someone (or something) reminds me of situations when I repressed my anger. Those are the dangerous ones, still. In my opinion it is better to break something than to repress the anger.

Hope this helps.
Hugs,
Monique.

Better the Shovel

than something more precious Dorothy.

Also better out of the system than in.

Sending big Hugs and Cuddles your way.

first off

the shovel was old and probably ready to break anyways.

The problem she had was that she was self punishing herself and getting more and more worked up about it. Then her mom said it was fine and poof dorothy was all happy again.

oh! Dorothy

It must have been a toy shovel from Sylvanian families or some other girly toy, been seeing your posts for years now and I think we can put this down to nothing more than a "hissy fit"

keep well x

P.S. I have an Aunt Dorothy and I am convinced that like her all Dorothys are so kind and polite, she's 91 and I have got to know her more in recent months as I help her with hospital appointments etc.
