What's really cool was that although I had to put my male name on my resume, I included Dorothy as my preferred name, and that's the name the lady who contacted me used.

I had my third interview with GSK today; hopefully the final one as the Sr. VP I interviewed with told me she wanted a decision made by the end of next week. Hopefully that means I'll see an offer shortly after!
I have another interview with a different company tomorrow afternoon as well. Hopefully one or perhaps even both will bear fruit. It would be nice to be able to play one against the other to see how much I can get from them - not to mention simply being able to choose as to which job I'd rather have.
I have interviewed with several companies in person now, and so far my gender has not been an issue. GSK was actually kind of humerous though as the first non-background question I was asked was how I felt about diversity in the workplace. I actually smiled at the interviewer and told him that I lived diversity every day - that I am the poster child for diversity, to which he smiled very big. I explained to him that I have always believed in hiring the best person for the job, irregardless of their sexuality, gender, the color of their skin, their last name, or anything else. I want the best person for the job, and nothing else matters. I then went on to say that when we talked over the phone they evaluated me entirely on my skills, experience, and personality - and that I believed it should be no different in person; that I am still the same person, and that should be true for everyone.
GSK has a very progressive diversity policy, as does my other potential employer. A good indication is always whether they list gender identity in their EEOC statement. Always look for that when researching a possible employer.

hmm is it possible to....
is it possible to breed, clone, some form of mass production and then compress them into a small handheld canister to be then unleashed on anyone who could use a good old Hug from a Huggle?
If so tell me we need to mass produce them and start shipping them in amass to several members of the site who have periods of high strain, stress, depression, etc... for instant release when the canister is breached.
Good Luck, going through the in person interview is always nerve racking especially for me even though i only use my legal name and am content as a male, but as an autistic I always feel like I need a serious pressure valve release before and after an interview for anything.
We all have our issues so I can only wish you the best success in your interview and if it goes well I hope you enjoy your new job.
