A few of you have met me and know that I pride myself on being energetic, sassy and snotty, but fun. LOL. Though the last one of you to visit here saw me not feeling that well. I'm going to beat this fat butt into submission yet !!!

So about 10 days ago I was at a very low key meeting where we were planning our strategy for doing war with the forces of evil. When we finished, I went out and got on my bicycle and prepared to ride home, only about 2 miles over the Tilicum Bridge. The man at the meeting seems bent on the idea that I act like a lady and gets very upset with any tomboy stuff from me. I try to be tough but with him it lacks any credibility. He's very old fashioned.

He insisted on getting it down off his porch and was going to walk it down his steep driveway to the street. Just being myself, I took my bike and said, "I got this". I was wearing my tennis skirt over bike shorts and short sleeve top, with helmet. Not sure how it happened but my left pedal hooked the curb and down I went on his rough brushed concrete driveway. It hurt so bad when I landed that my "eggs were fried", and I was "Pinned" under my 45 lb bike. As I woke up all I could say was a whispered, "ow", while I tried not to openly cry.

After that, there was no option but to obey John. He was not brooking any nonsense and I was rather road rashed, with a pancake size place under my left knee, one on my left arm, a hole in my right knee, and I think a couple cracked ribs.

It all still hurts like hell, though is starting to improve. "OH, the indignity of it all". In looking the reference up, all I could get was reference to "Thomas the Tank", and not the victorian novel I was thinking of. That just shows you that the meaningful world is going to hell in a handbasket.

Well, off to do a bit of laundry, clean the kitchen and then take my spirited bronk for a ride again and hoping it will behave.

Cheers, Yes, I really should live in the UK, and am sure I would fit in.

I'm glad that you are ok

A bit battered and bruised maybe.
It is great that you got back on your bike.

Just take it steady my friend.

Reputation - permanently dented. Bodily injuries, and dignity, I hope will recover soon. That's quite a hefty steed, it is. Please try and stay on the upper side of it.

"Reach for the sun."

Trek 7100 Lady byke.

The forks have springs and so does the seat tube. but with 110 lb air pressure tyres, that is meaningless.

I can not countenance high center bars, and when I bought it ... Well now I can buy a diagonal bar Aluminum bike that weighs about 21 pounds.

Later I may buy something lighter.

Glad you're ok

Glad you're ok, as for fitting in, yep you sure will, dropped my bike today as well (only prob is it's 1100cc & 330kg (67ci & 727lb))
Thankfully I'm ok, bike not so much, 120quid of damage :-(

Crotch Rockets

Rode them when I was young, but now it is unthinkable for me. Though this summer, I may rent a Harley Sportster and ride it to church just to scandalize them. :)

Hope you're not too badly damaged

45lbs goodness that's the weight of two of mine, closer to three. Unless you're riding off road, suspension is just extra weight.

Angharad

Yes ...

It is fun when men do that. :)

Gwen

45 lb for a bike !!!!*****?

That's heavy machinery girl!!! Get something a whole lot lighter or get a trike. (Chuckle).

Glad you're okay though babes; what would I do for Skype I ask myself?
