Bibliophage sent me a private message asking for me to post a status update, so I just wanted to let the community know that I'm still alive, still out here, and still writing.
I've been spending most of my time dealing with family crises, mostly involving my husband and daughter, and working on the first novel in a series that might (hopefully) allow me to make a living writing fiction. I've also been giving my stories for BigCloset attention when I can steal a few minutes here and there, so No Rules, Bishop, the Firefly fan fiction and The Hardest Battle aren't dead ... just sleeping. I've also been resisting the siren's call of several new story ideas for BCTS, because I don't want to create even more literary children to nag me for attention. *grin*
I'm really looking forward to posting here again, because novel writing offers very little in the way of immediate feedback, especially since I can't give beta readers bits and pieces of the work in progress without ruining them for reviewing the book when it's done. *sigh*

Thank you so much for letting us mere readers know what you are still with us. I was really beginning to worry about you when you stopped posting. I hope you are doing well and good luck with you novel and of course with you family. I hope the time for crisis is over now.

Good to know
and good to read. Family is… incredibly important, and speaking for myself at least, invaluable when gone. I'm still regretting all of the things I didn't do ever since my mother was killed.
When your novel does get published, where are you going to be distributing it?

I was unaware that anyone had written firefly fanfic and of course had to go read the whole series last night after reading your post. I do hope that you can find the time to continue that series as I am a fan of firefly. I will say that you totally captured the characters in how you portrayed then
