Look on the bright side
The culprits were arrested with no suggestion that they were anything other than hooligans looking for vulnerable people to attack. It could have been anyone from a drunk man to a pregnant woman they assaulted.
Rhona McCloud
Really?
Would they have said the drunk man or the pregnant woman needed to be stoned also? I would say the two women were in the wrong place at the wrong time, but they were made and that's why they were attacked.
"Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.”
George Carlin
Everybody is at risk Karen but…
… I hope you will take the encouragement I intended from my comment. When you next see on the street the old, disabled or other women, all vulnerable to attack, be ready to follow their example and not be intimidated into living behind a veil or closed doors. I do believe it is pointless to single out those who attack with stones from those who prefer boots, knives, petrol or acid.
Rhona McCloud
I was not trying to instill fear, just awareness
Millions of Muslims believe it is acceptable to stone to death gays, lesbians and transgendered. These men came countries where that is the belief and cultural norm. They, and other like them, may or may not assimilate to western culture and values. Only time will tell.
Judge the person
You sound as though it would be all right to stone Muslims to death.
We all have to live together on this Earth, regardless of whether we're Jewish, black, Muslim, LGBT, Christian or Daily Mail readers. We either believe in tolerance of views and religions we don't agree with, or we don't.
Judge the person rather than the bigoted garbage you hear about the groups to which they belong.
Talking about culture is being a Bigot?
LOL History is about how demographic and culture shifts cause change. The first signs of that change appear in the social conflicts. White washing the beliefs, paradigms, goals and social norms of various cultural groups to hide the source of social conflicts just show how unwilling we are to understand their view points.
not sure where stoning muslims
came from. but lets look at the facts, THEY were doing (and still are all over the middle east) things to NOT let everyone coexist. their culture, in most of those countries (whether it is religious or secular based) is NOT about coexisting, it is about being part of the group, or being punished for NOT being part of the "normal" type, whether that is religion based, orientation or gender expression.
the recent events in europe from the "refugee's" they let in show that. they feel THEIR culture should trump any other, at least some of them do. as they say, one apple spoils the bunch, or FOR the bunch as it is in this case. i know there are plenty of moderate muslims, some more than others. the issue is that they DONT DO ANYTHING usually to control the extreme groups, usually out of fear.
the case i heard about today, a bus filled with people were stopped by Boka Haram i think they said, and they tried to separate the muslims from the christians. the muslims on the bus REFUSED and did everything they could to hide who might be christian, giving head scarves to the women, etc. and told the armed men if they were going to kill anyone, they would have to kill them all. THAT is what the world needs to see to get rid of the impression that the muslim world is supporting these terrorist mad men, if even by default by not doing anything to stop them.

They will not assimilate
They do not intend to assimilate. It is the contention of such individuals that WE must assimilate THEIR culture, their values ...
Understand, I am not saying Muslim culture ... I truly do not know what to call it, other than Their Culture. While the majority of my direct interactions with "Muslims" have been contentious at best, here's the thing ... how many people of Muslim descent and belief have I really dealt with?
I don't know.
The "Muslims" I wind up thundering at are far from likely to be the only Muslims I interact with, they're just the ones most deeply infected with assholiness. An infection, sadly, not limited in any way to this group alone, as I've seen much the same sort of intolerant, racist, bigoted bullsheite spewing out of "Christians" ... the only real difference is the labeling used.
Is it a Muslim problem, really? From what little I actually know of the faith, I don't think so. It's a racial "thing" ... they see the "Other", and they've been indoctrinated to hate the "Other" with their mother's milk. My biggest issue with this is I was born here (literally, about 65 blocks from where I currently live), and they've imported this bullshiete along with themselves from some pest-hole they had to flee in fear of their lives. Why is their pain MY FAULT?
Millions of extremists, of
Millions of extremists, of whatever belief, believe it is acceptable to stone or kill anyone who is not of themselves. As a Muslim and an LGBTIQ+ person, I have never condoned this. As I said in a Facebook post of mine this past weekend, this is one reason I go to conventions and show what I as a Muslim believe. So it is cultural, not religious in what is done anytime.
(And that's not even going on what sources this comes from...)

Concealment and deception
And, this is exactly why I look like a Muslim woman when I go out. All they can see my carefully and minimally made up face. I just don't get T women who run around dressed like sluts. I mean it is their privilege I suppose.
Stoned?
Holy exaggeration Batman!
Throwing Gravel is hardly stoning. Its still bad and I'm glad they were caught but to call it stoning is sensationalising the facts.
By far I'm more upset by the hair pulling and groping than the gravel pelting. We have a long way to go and stories like this just make the straights roll their eyes.

Media slant
Yes it's serious but whenever the Daily Mail says anything TG related I always feel the need to check a separate source, the mail always choses a negative spin on such things. The Daily Mirror (the first unrelated newspaper in a search for the story) adds that the men were following these women and talking to them, and eventually things turned nasty. One possible interpretation is that the men thought they were on to something and after multiple attempts to get them to go away they resorted to the one thing left in their arsenal, with their "manliness" slighted they resorted to threats.
Of course all number of other scenarios are equally possible and even given time we probably won't know the answer.

Nasty incident, but
the story appeared in the Daily Mail, which picked it up from Breitbart.com which picked it up from SAT1. I wouldn't trust any of them to be fair and unbiased. It would be an understatement to accuse SAT1 of sensationalism, Breitbart has its own political axe to grind, and the DM still hasn't apologised for supporting Hitler and our home-grown British Blackshirts in the 1930s, and it is pretty misogynistic as well.
The police spokesman describes a very nasty incident where three teenagers attacked two vulnerable women. That the teenagers were North African and the women TS suits some people's political agenda; it's also a juicy story for the papers and the TV. Sadly, the attitude of the three little scrotes in this case isn't confined to North African teenagers. Just like domestic violence and child abuse it happens in ALL ethnic groups and ALL social classes and with people of ALL religions (and none) - I have worked with the police, social workers, and health services for years, and hear this sort of story all the time. Sometimes the victims are trans, sometimes they're gay, disabled, too young to fight back, a different colour, or a different religion.
Distant Sunshine
Agreed.
But following on the New Year's eve thing in Koln, it is a bigger story than it needs to because you have racial, religious and cultural differences not to mention the weirdo element, and the DM readers would be in an ecstatic state, able to feel superior while pointing the finger all round.
I'm sure this sort of incident happens all over the world millions of times a day and it doesn't get in the tabloids.
