I've been working on a personal project for quite some time that is the pure unembellished truth. It is frank and brutal at times, and at other times it is happy and joyful. It is partially TG, but most of it is not even remotely about that.

To maintain complete ownership of the story, I will not employ an editor but perhaps a proof reader. The publisher will agree to keep the story intact.

So it is clear that the Westboro Baptist Church and those of their ilk will want to boil me in oil, but they may have to wait their turn. This story calls out the Mental Health community, the Drug makers, and the GBLT community also because none of us are perfect, and at times we all need to gaze at our navels for a bit.

One author suggested to me that it is vain glory to read your reviews. So, those here who like my writing will hopefully like it more, and those who hate me will perhaps be bad shots. Having never had much acceptance I'll do it my way.

It's been done

The mental “health” “care” communities, Big Pharma, and the Big Three organized religions (in general, and the American fundamentalist “Bible Belt” in particular) have been roasted again and again by advanced professionals and amateurs alike. Activist and counterculture groups such as G, L, B, and T have come in for their share, as well. So, as many people constantly suggest here on BCTS, do it for yourself.

Do it for yourself, not for your audience, nor to “strike a blow” against the damned hypocrites—both of those groups were here long before we were, and will still be here long after we have gone. Others like you have already published their stories to confront the hypocrites and expose them to the audience. And yet, psychiatrists and nurses Ratched are still mind-phucking and pill-pushing, Big Pharma is still declaring dividends and stock splits, the scripture thumpers are still preaching and screeching in synagogs and on street-corners (to be seen of men), and just about everyone else is fighting a personal turf war just for a little more room to breathe… So do it for yourself, to cleanse and purify yourself and, hopefully, gain yourself a little more peace in this life.

If you go for commercial (traditional) publication, editors and revisions may be inevitable. The Internet and digital formats have thankfully made self-publication much easier but, even before all that, people have had to self-publish in “dead tree” format in order to speak their own truths without editorial interference. No matter which way you wind up going with it, I can only repeat what others have already said: do it for your self.

Best of luck, and may we all find some peace.

Big Pharma

I long for the day when "Big Pharma" referred to the guy down the road who fed registered Herefords.

By the way, Herefords are a very pretty breed. See the calf toward the bottom of the Wiki page

Isn't that lovely?

Speaking of Big Pharmas...

I prefer horses, myself. For pretty horse breeds, I know of none to match the breed known as the Irish Cob, Gypsy Cob, or Gypsy Vanner Horse.

There are still plenty of big (and smaller) horse pharmas raising various different breeds. I long for the days when gas/petrol was cheaper, my income was larger, and I was more fit and active, when I was able to drive to the places nearest to me (but still distant) where they are kept and raised, to participate in their care and partake of their quiet friendship.

I think that’s lovely, too.

Had Horses Once

We had several for trail riding up in the Cascades. Mine was a big Appy and Quarter. Strong, and loyal but flighty as a chihuahua. He let me unwrap his leg from barbed wire once and then I have him hot water and epsom salts baths for a month. Cried when I had to part with them.

I cried, too

The last person I worked for (volunteer job) had her land sold out from under her, was not able to find a suitable place to relocate, and wound up liquidating. There have been very few places where I felt welcome and accepted, and hers was one of them. I came over to help long after the horses were gone, to help her break things down and pack. It was my way of expressing appreciation for her making me welcome there, and sharing so much with me.

One of my best buddies among the horses there was a Percheron/Thoroughbred gelding with the typical gentle Percheron temperament. A woman who came to look at the horses for sale saw us hanging out together, and talked to me about him. Later, she looked me up again, excitedly told me that she had bought him, and invited me to visit him at his new place whenever I wanted. So I had that contact, until she moved out of state. Now I have memories, and a few photos.

G, L, B, and T, ... ah, .... would that be the the "Great Lake, Boston and Toledo Railway?" I think I've seen their box cars.

They could be...

“Greavesly, Leistermort, Bletchfield, and Talloway Funeral Home and Crematorium.” I think I’ve seen their car boxes.

…or, they could be “Greenbaum, Levine, Brubaker and Talbot, attorneys at law.” I think I’ve seen them box some ears.

I think I've seen their box cars.

Ah, but have you seen them throw naturals? It’s a beautiful thing to behold!

My happiness would be getting dressed up and LOOKING like I’m ready to go.
