And *I* am 57.

Damn it. Is that AARP with a battering ram at my door?

The Door

Next time they run to batter the door, take a page from the cartoons, and open the front and back door at the same time.

Happy Birthday.

Happy 57th

Many happy returns etc. etc. etc.

Just out of curiosity, are you still young enough that you might consider finishing your Joannie story?

Opening the door to AARP is like feeding the cat at the dinner table. Once you let them in, it never stops -at least not for a long time. I was a member many years ago, but realized I wasn't getting anything for it. The pestering has decrease a bit. I'm 72.5. My wife gets mail three times a week from them, and she never belonged. She did turn 65 three years ago. That seemed to have opened the doors. We are also hounded about changing our medical coverage. I know we put many pounds of mail into the recycle bin. It gives the recyclable sorters something to do.

Congratulations

So, you say you're 57 (okay, so I pretend dyslexia). That explains quite a lot.

Actually, the AARP barrage seems to start when you turn 50. I know that was the piece of mail I really appreciated on my 50th birthday. (not really). I don't think it matters that much whether you're a member or not, when it comes to them deciding how much SPAM to send your way. Oy... I held off joining (since I needed nothing they provided). However, the past summer's vacation spot included a 10% discount, for AARP members and that was easier to do than dig out all my paperwork to prove I'm a vet to get the same discount).. So, I paid for the membership, and that one discount paid for it with some to spare.

Congrats again, and enjoy your next 57.

Hmmm

That's relatively new. When I lived there back in the late '80s, it wasn't indicated. Nice addition though.

Happy B'day, John. :)

My brother will have his 58th in just 11 days, so for the next week and a half, you're the same age as him. :)

Hugs,
Erin

Strictly Speaking...

...Ioseb Besarionis Dze Jugashvili isn't 136. He's dead, the foul failed priest that he was, and good riddance.

Thankfully, you are not. In Soviet Wauwatosa... *mind breaks*

Anyway, hope you have a Happy Birthyday! ^___^

Actually, not so "mere". And I bet you're as good-looking as Brad....maybe just a little more rugged. A happy birthday, with many more to come. Who knows, you may make 136, but I hope not in the same condition as your Uncle Joe!

Woof! Woooofy Woof!

Actually,... Joseph Stalin

Actually,... Joseph Stalin is dead. (thank god)

I've been resisting AARP for the last (almost 8) years....

And I turn 58 on the 26th of this month.... Some days I feel so old. *sigh*
Have a great day everyone,

Hugs,
