Accusations
She stares at me with a loving eye
You are a wonderful man
This makes me sigh
The best man I ever known
I let it go by
The most amazing stepfather
I needed to try
I don't think I could make it unless I had you
I am not going to cry
I am so happy I married you
Its all been a lie
I know you'll never hurt me
I can't shame her I must die
We will be together forever
All that's left is to say goodbye

Who knew...
...one trans-mans cure is another trans-woman's poison? If I read this correctly, it's Jenn who has to die in order for them both to live together? If I'm wrong, please delete this. I screamed at the top of my lungs today when I drove to my nephew's home to pick up my son; feeling very hopeless and sad. But hope still reigns eternal, I must believe.

What a mighty internal struggle, Jenn. I'm praying for a happy resolution for your struggle. I think that you think a happy resolution is impossible. Well, heck, that's what prayers are for - impossible things that we can't do on our own, so we ask a Higher Power.

So what the wife is thinking of as praise stings our narrator like accusations? OUCH!
Powerful poem. And if I was still writing these days it would probably be just as grim.
Have you considered maybe italicizing the reaction lines?
That might make things a bit clearer to obtuse dolts
like me who it took a few readings to figure it out.

This was so moving. while im not in that situation, I am very close to my immediate family, part of my coping with some issues from childhood, I never found a person who wanted me as I wanted them. I can totally understand these reactions as I received similar except it was "uncle" or "Brother" or "Son". The love from and for a family is one of life's cruelest forms of imprisonment; it is escapable, but the cost COULD be so high, good people fear to pay it.
again, your big heart and understanding and the ability to express it in short forms is a great gift, keep it up. While some of your stories are very sad, they ALL are very moving and very pointed to the people here.
