Well, I went to see my endo doc today, and he's decided to switch me from an estrogen patch to a gel, since I was having troubles with the patch. That was fine, and it led to a little event I'd like to call:
Using the ladies room at Wal-Mart.
See, I went down to get the prescription filled, and while waiting realized I had to use the facilities, and so went to use the ladies room, on the principle that I am one, abet one with a slight plumbing problem.
And despite the fact it was packed, and there were several small children there, I was able to do my business without incident.
To me, that's the gold standard of passing - its one thing to be clocked going about my business in a mall or whatever, but the risk of a negative reaction increases greatly if I get noticed while in a bathroom.
So I feel kinda good about today, which is nice after a while of feeling like crap.

I tried an estrogen gel, once, using some that a friend had... since I was having problems with the oral medication I had been using prior to that.
Unfortunately... that particular friend had 3 dogs. MALE dogs. Not fixed.
And unfortunately... those dogs can smell the estrogen from those gels. And unfortunately, that smell is "strong enough" (at least for dogs), that it seemed to really "turn them on" -- based on what happened, I would guess that dogs apparently determine when a female dog is "in heat" from the scent of hormones...
Sigh. I am really not into "bestiality". Particularly with three dogs at the same time, all trying to hump my left forearm -- which happens to be where I tried the sample. Ick.
When I asked why she didn't warn me, my friend just looked startled, then sheepish. "It didn't even occur to me to say anything. That happens to me all the time... I just have gotten so used to it that I don't notice anymore..."
Blink.
All I could do was shake my head... and quickly wash the residue of that gunk off. I have never tried an estrogen gel again, since then... although I do recall learning a similar lesson from injection HRT, a few years later.
Hint for those considering injection HRT: Wash the spot you inject before going out, especially if a droplet of the medication ends up on the skin somehow. Smile.
I usually inject in my upper thigh.
The liquid medication for injections is *really* concentrated, so even a drop has quite a bit of estrogen in it.
I will let you guess what happened as I was walking down the street, past a house with a really large (male) dog...
I repeat, I am NOT into bestiality. LOL.

oh I am laughing until I cry ... thank you for your input. For myself I use the pills, and dissolve them under my tongue. No stress to the liver that way.
