I don't know if the same 'publishing phenomenon' is sweeping the Colonies, but there is apparently an insatiable appetite for a series of books about kinky sex attracting readers throughout the UK. I have spoken to friends of both gender, and those who have read the work admit to skim-reading it. The men leap from orgasm to orgasm, while the women leave those bits behind as they seek to find some plot.
A girl friend sent me the following link. It is highly inadvisable to click on it at work. It gets stale quickly, but now and again a euphemism for a sexual activity or anatomical part makes me giggle. My favourite so far is 'calamari cock ring'.

I haven't read it yet
But my Dad says it's very pornographic, but in his opinion it's well written. I'm sure I'll read it sooner or later.

I tend ...
... to adopt the 'female' approach as you define it, Steph. I tend to skip the often literal blow by blow sexual encounters seeking plot, characters and situations in so-called erotic fiction. It doesn't do anything for me but other things do, I confess.
I've read both Fanny Hill and Tom Jones and thoroughly enjoyed both for plot and humour. They're both a good sexy romp. Because of a local connection I've also read most of DH Lawrence but not Lady Chatterley which became generally available when I was 20 after a notorious trial. I doubt if I'll bother with 50 shades. I think it has a strong bondage element which really turns me off.
Having declared my innocence and purity (ha!) I have to admit to giggling at your link. Now that kind of porno I can tolerate because it doesn't take itself too seriously.
Thanks
I wonder if...
it would be feasible to remove the "n" from the last word of the blog title? = )
My researches
show it to be a trilogy of poorly written crap, with better stuff being posted here.
It just goes to show that human faddishness and the search for constant novelty while possibly being an evolutionary advantage in some respects demonstrate that the vast majority have IQs in single figures and taste indicators which are even lower. It proves that hype can sell anything.
