I suspect that if I hit the pavement with my head it would crack the pavement, not my head. I unfortunately know all about pain from falls. I dislocated a rib in my back from a fall from twelve feet up about 8 years ago and I still have cronic pain from it. The E.R. was not exactly happy with me either since I drove from the work site to the hospital in a standard transmission Ford Ranger (took about 30 minutes to drive.) I did have the presence of mind to kick the ladder out from under me as I was falling though since it prevented me from landing on it. The combat fall landing(hand to hand training) also helped to minimize my injuries thank God.
