I'm Sorry to bother anyone taking the time to read this, who has also been reading my 'You Have it All Wrong four' But i've noticed a sudden drop in the number of people looking at it, and I'm begining to wonder if people have gone off it, or I've just pushed the story line as far as I can?
I would like to get some feed back as to whether or not I should just give up on it, and focus on other stuff instead. I also don't want to keep posting it and taking up space that better writers could use.
I've never had massive kudos scores, or comments left for 'You Have it All Wrong', but the last part only got two comments, and now I'm worried that I made a mistake posting book four.
SamanthaK has another eight parts to post for me, and i have another three ready to send over to her, but if people are sick of seeing me post this story, then I'll just let it stop, and not keep bothering you with it.

In my opinion, a writer should write for themselves. If there is only one read it is worth while. Kudos are icing only. If you are writing for Kudos ALONE then you should try a new line. If you get better than one comment per 1000 reads then you are doing very well. Although there seems to be a hardcore group here that give most comments.

It has already been said that you should write for yourself and this is so true.
It is also true that acknowledgement adds meaning and justification to the art
Unfortunately most readers like me are not always able to add comments and are not always able to stay upto date, the number of times I've had a week of the bike to chase!
With the demise of the kudos button, well it don't work for me sitting greyed in't corner I have no easy way to show my appreciation when I can't comment.
Unfortunately it's happening to a lot of great serials that they seem to teeter and once missed for a couple of months the casual reader won't look for em anymore especially when the pure volume posted on bc is considered

Yup, im sure you have it all wrong :P
Now, i'll be honest and say that I personally have not read this series, because im not a fan of reality-type stories. Now your story may not be this type, but the lack of genre tags lead me to belive so. But I am just one person... i know there are many who enjoy this type of writting and have seen quite a few who dislike the story types i personally enjoy (magic, sci-fi, fantasy)and even go as far as bash the popular Ret-Con asking for reality stories!
Now about the lack of comments... well, we dont always comment on long-running stories because after the first few chapters all the _great story!_ comments get repetitive, so we dont comment to allow others to make solid points. This doesnt mean that we stopped enjoying the story, only that we cant think of anything to add. At least this is the way *I* am, of course i cant speak for others.

I was thinking of writing a blog. Fact is, this site seems to have a large amount of really high quality stories, and I just don't have the time to read them all. It would basically be an apology to that fact.
I don't plan on stopping reading, nor is my writing going to take over (I released my first story yesterday). I doubt I will ever be a prolific writer.
I have read some of your other stuff, and liked it, so I will eventually get around to reading this series. When I do I will comment, and leave a Kudo, but I have decided it is the thing to do for stories I like. The first 8 months I scanned everywhere, and said nothing. My bad, and I have reformed.
Actually, I'm thinking strongly of getting a tablet so I can indulge my habit of reading before I go to sleep. Problem with that plan is I don't always go to sleep. :D

I Love This Series!
I love this series and I am enjoying the new story a lot. When I see a new one in the daily list on Fridays, I get really excited. In my opinion , you can keep them coming and I will keep reading. I especially love how they have taken Danielle into their hearts and lives. She is finally getting the love she has been denied for so long. I look forward to more!

It is tough as an author to deal with the impact of posting something that you have worked hard on. You want it to be a huge hit with everyone and have a million people reading the story and raving about how good it is. When that doesn't happen, it hurts. Others have said you need to write for yourself, and this is true. As an author though, I know you post to get others to justify if what you wrote is good or not.
After years of posting stories on the web, I have learned that short stories get more reads than long ones. Long stories though, are often viewed in higher regard than short ones. With the long stories, you will get less and less reads as the story goes on. Some get tired of the story. Some find it just isn't going the way they like their stories to go. Some have trouble keeping on top of the story when there is so long between posts. I know as a reader, I prefer to read a story once it is complete or almost complete. I struggle with keeping track of which stories I am part way through and which I didn't like for one reason or another. If I don't visit the site for a few days since the last chapter was posted, I might miss that it was posted. Oh and cliff hangers. I love writing them, but as a reader I hate waiting to see what will happen. There are a lot of reasons to encourage me to wait till a story is done or almost before reading it.
I will admit this story has caught my attention, but I have not read it yet. It is one I thought I would be better off waiting till you are done posting it, then read it all at once. You are a good author Sara. Don't let a low view number discourage you. For your last chapter I think I saw 300 reads in three days. That is one hundred people a day reading it. Pretty good for a long, ongoing story. Finish the story, get it all posted, and declare it done. Do it for yourself and your characters. Do it for us readers who are waiting for you to say "The End" before we read. You are writing two stories at once, keep going and let people in time judge the story. Don't judge the future of the story based on an incomplete story post.

that i've stopped reading this story.
It's nothing to do with quality, more to do with personal taste, i'm just not interested anymore.
That doesn't mean you should stop posting, theres nothing more annoying than having a story end mid flow!
As others have said write what you want, if its really terrible we'll tell you but don't expect much feedback otherwise, i regularly score 800 hits per chapter with maybe 2 comments and 20 kudos. I know i have lots of fans but they don't all like everything i put out - if i managed that trick i could be wealthy! Given that i'm just starting to write book 10 of Gaby i'm well aware of how fickle our audience can be.
So put out the rest of what you have for yourself and your followers.

Admittedly I haven't started reading it yet... but that's only because I haven't finished Book 3 yet! I started reading Book 3 then spent a few weeks offline, and was so busy catching up with other stuff I didn't catch up with YHIAW 3.
As chapters were usually in the region of 20,000 words; they were no problem for a Friday night / Saturday morning when I was reading them live - but it was far to easy to procrastinate and put off reading of the chapters I'd missed... which only got me further behind!
However, I have resolved to catch up one day, so if you suddenly start seeing old chapters gain extra reads / kudos / comments... :D
Meanwhile, as you've got a whopping eleven parts 'in hand' (i.e. already written), if your muse directs you to write something else, go for it! If you're mad enough, join one of the story universes (*Muhahahaha!*) :D Feel free to experiment... and if you ever get bored of writing, there are oodles of other stories for you to read, kudo and comment on! :D

I have been catching up on all my reading, but I'm still behind on swome of my favorites. I'm behind on YHIAW and Sarah Carrera, among others, but as soon as I finish the next chapter of Wild Magic, I'll be working on catching up on everything I'm behind on.

I've noticed a similar dropoff in reads on my story. When I asked one friend she said "sounds like you're getting competitive, you should write for yourself." What I was more concerned about was if I made a mistake and people stopped reading because I was going in the wrong direction or I had jumped a shark or something else where the feedback would be useful for the future.
If it wasn't for the fact that I had invested a lot in my story to this point and the fact that I'm determined to actually finish writing a serial for once (actually twice, but who's counting ;) ) then I would be having second thoughts about continuing.

I love the story very much. You brought the newer generation into the mix and kept the older generation so that we know that new generation is not alone. I do want to to find out about Danielle and Lianna are going together. From what I read I looks like they could have a relationship like Chrissy/Becky, Amy/Amber or Sara/Cathy have. I might not leave a message each time, but I look forward to the next chapter each week. I leave kudos if I remember, since I usually read it right before work or right after work before I go to sleep. So keep writing for you and post it for us to enjoy your work. I am also waiting for the next book for you 'Project Guardian'. I enjoy your works very much, hope so see more on 'You Have It All Wrong Four' and 'Project Guardian' soon.
