Recently I have been catching up on some Whateley Tales I have missed reading, and I keep reading references to Combat Finals and as a result I noticed that I may have missed a story somewhere as more than one refers to the damage Elaine Ethel "Doc" Nalley (Loophole) causes in hers.

Is this actually covered in a story or just an internal Whateley 'This Happened'?

Unable to narrow to a specific Universe, mutation story, but parents part of hate group, Character called, Mortimer/Mort until after manifestation, sister adopts.
Highschool, takes job in kitchen at café/restaurant, saves some staff from fire in same.

... at the moment I'm in the midst of reading Susan Brown's Orphan, which is very good by the way, and was reminded of another similar story.

I can't remember it's era or if it is set in the UK or US, here is what I can (may be not in sequence order)

set off by the strangest things, let me set the scene
Suffering from a migraine [I do not get the auditory component of migraine that causes nausea, which is why it probably took the medical types took so long to diagnose my suffering with Migraines], I was sat in a darkened room listening to music, most of the time it is just there but like with a lot of things something catches you in that place between you the conscious and subconscious, and a lyric begins to roll around in what I [laughingly] call a mind.

I'm having trouble remembering a story title

Main characters father is rich but incompetent as he sends child to girls boarding school, despite gender and general name, there happens to be about half a dozen half sisters as students.

Makes friends with sisters, and daughter of school nurse who is in similar situation as character.

I am attempting to remember the name of Author and Story
Title has the word 'WISDOM' in it

Story may be in Whateley Universe or Morfs Universe, but definitely a mutation story

Boy on road trip with father/grandfather
He is terminally ill, but unlike most stories he is hiding that he is tg, until mutation kicks in, so when mutation changes her it's the best result.

Not sure if the following are parts of the same story or parts of two different stories, either way I can't remember title/s or author/s

1. teacher goes ballistic in class, and student who is hearing impaired, and has permission to record lessons for later, records all insults from the teacher.
Later the teacher resigns after hearing her ranting at the school board meeting.

2. Brother or cousin is given a book containing a hidden recording device (I think by a detective firm employed by the family) and records a teacher making insults.

Bear in mind that when this was originally quoted, pen\pencil or typewriter and paper were the only method of getting works to the public.

Authors exist merely for the stories sake and not the other way around,
A good story has to do Two things inform and entertain.

The information part must be entertaining enough to let the readers live the story,
Without the readers feeling they are on the receiving end of a sermon.

Writing entertainment without information or without some insight into what it is to be human is a waste of good trees!

.... Through the Years I remembered that I'd read another story but I can't remember the author or title.

From what I remember there is a family cabin or summer house by a lake, main character and his/her parents and grandparent, for a celebration, maybe his/her birthday.

has been feeding me snippets of stories.

If my memory is correct ( which it is once every blue moon or so )

mother, father and son in hotel room in Europe, France or Germany, bad guys break into room kill mom and dad, leave son for dead, with serious injuries, most severely in genitals.
I think mom and dad might have been in US diplomatic service.
after son recovers enough aunt and uncle take him in and back to US, however he is left with parents house and contents.

Main Character takes up modelling, and gives it up to go back to school

Most I can remember is

... seems to finaly have got his way and is going to get more money out of us!!!!
