Maryanne Peters' "LumberJackie" story reminded me of another story that I am pretty sure is somewhere on the Top Shelf here at Big Closet

Most importantly I can't remember if this actually happened in the story or was a story used within the story
(you know the type 'Take Care of your tools & they'll take care of you', and just because it worked last time it was used doesn't mean you don't carry out safety checks before use)

Person goes out for cut wood for the houses fires for winter and the chainsaws chain breaks and injures the person.

it has been difficult as on top of not being able to remember TITLE or AUTHOR, I can't remember the plot of the story either just a scene

MC arrives at the digs (student lodging house) of her best friend (could be S\O) if I remember right he'd injured his leg.

for some reason she is in or near the kitchen (stereotypical male student house) bags of rubbish piled up waiting to be taken out, along with discarded pizza boxes some of which may have had 'science experiments' in them

I am a fan of Susan Brown's stories, and while I enjoy the goings on in Penmarris.

The story is hard to find because while I know it is in a medevil\fantasy setting, and may be incomplete

MC is like in most stories the butt of many jokes by peers

there is a 'searching' that takes place at a festival of some kind

The local cause of trouble is a boy who while high-born, isn't as highup the chain as he believes and his father had become tired with bailing him out and is taken as a sqire to a knight.

The chosen have to travel, and MC discovers they have magic and a warrior?

Mother call every night, all seems fine until he notices itching in chest

he tries to get help from mom, mom believes aunt she is moms sister after all.

help finally comes from female friend, friend i think lives next door, the only one that aunt lets him accociate with

This relationship is aunts undoing as, the friend is M2F but aunt thinks her parents are as ill as she is

Mom finally arrives at the hospital and begs forgiveness

Advocate Novels by Randalynn

I am nearly finished rereading 'No Obligation' and will follow with the sequel 'No Rules: An Advocate Novel'

I am pretty sure that at least one other author wrote an "Advocate Novel"

all I remember is

A character may be late High school early college is, being abused by mother

Mother had gets elected to a political post, goes away supposedly for meetings friday to tuesday

Character uses burnerphone to call for help as has been locked in the house

the reason the character comes into contact with the stories MC is an interview for something or other and the mother bulls her way into the interview, so the character fails

Sorcerer's Marks and Morpheus' "The Academy" which I am reading again thanks to Carpe Diem's blog entry 'Looking for a story'

While reading "The Academy" the MC is discovered to have a Sorcerer's Mark

This reminded me of a similar story of a magic academy, but this one was more of a Summer School\Camp, one of the MC's friends is a goth and her 'SYMBOL' (for want of a better term as I can't remember what the story called them) was a "Jack O Lantern"

Hope's Stories gone?

I have been rereading Maggie Finson's "Heaven and Hell" Universe, which i had made a list of.

One I had listed was "There's always Hope" By Hope Eternal Reigns, that I had listed as being posted here at Big Closet seems to be missing along with all of Hope's stories

a story, my problem is I am pretty sure it is by 1 of 3 authors who all have 30+ stories of varing lengths, and I can't be sure I'm not mixing similar plot lines.

re reading Tanya Allan's "Shit Happens, But So Do Miracles!"

and was reminded of another story, similar in that the protagonist is in the entertainment business.

I am left wondering where Jessie's latest story is
