got home last evening after over a week away for Gabycon. Normal service will resume shortly!
So a short reprise of the last week or so:-
Thursday last - after voting I set off for Derby where I caught a time saving train to Tamworth. From there I made my way via Meriden to my campsite just outside Stratford upon Avon where I spent a restful night.
Friday - an early start took me through the Cotswolds and eventually to a different River Avon via two heavy downpours! then it was a train down to Dorchester to start the Gabycon!
For all those attending Gabycon this coming weekend 24-26th June here is some very important information.
The informal Friday evening meal will be at the Trumpet Major pub on the edge of Dorchester (Google still shows it as The Original Thomas Hardy Inn) - aim for Maxgate Hardy's house, it's practically next door. It's on Allington Avenue, Dorchester DT1 2AB for satnavs. Table is booked for 7.30, eat at 8.00pm.
Anyone who cannot make Friday but who wishes to join us on Saturday or Sunday should PM myself here through BC/TS.
So, June is well on its way and the Gabycon is fast approaching! There will be a special news flash next week with programme details so if you are planning on coming look out for that.
There is new Gaby here and with a following wind Book 16 will be complete next week!
This weekend I'm off camping at York Cycle Rally so I'm hoping the weather gods are looking amicably down on us!
So take care and remember to check here next week for the very latest Gaby news!
So for those of you trying to catch up, here is the next chapter of Book 12+1.
There will probably be another update later in the week - I'm away again this weekend riding - 86 miles around the Yorkshire Dales -so there won't be anything next Sunday.
Indeed, as they say, the best laid plans..... Anyhow whilst I had hoped to post new chapter and get the web issue sorted today a change of plan/weather means I won't get on line properly (this is from my phone) today.
The next update will therefore be mid week so have a look then.
In other news - Book 16 is moving along well, the next block will be finished next week, the editorial team(!) have up to ch15 so only 25 more to go! Part 2 will be released next weekend, so if you can't wait for the full book you can sharpen your credit cards for a shorter fix in 7 days time!
Stand by your beds, tomorrow, that's May 8th, the first chunk of the new Gaby book, the 16th, Sweet Sixteen will be available via the usual sources.
I will of course put up the direct links as usual.
More of book 12 will be up too so tune in tomorrow!
Hi everyone, well its long passed due but I've finally got to a point where I can resurrect Maddybell.com! The first proper update won't be until next week but here's a link anyhow with a synopsis to what's afoot!
Well I'm back in England - for a few weeks at least, so I present to you the next part of Culture Clash.
My trip to the Spreewald Marathon was quite successful - a total ride time of 6:35 for the 203km was a new personal best for the event despite the damp on the day. My actual ride time gave an average of almost 32kph/21mph which I'm quite proud of, I doubt i'll come close to that next week in the Tour de Yorkshire event!
Yep there's a new Gaby chapter here for you all to enjoy.
Book 15 is coming along nicely, 35 chapters are now complete, 31 of which are edited! Thanks Ang. With Spring in the air my life is about to get busier with other stuff so I'm aiming to have a push to complete the book for next weekend so look out for news on that next weekend.
Well that looks like the plan for now at least. Of course my publishing doesn't just run to Gaby et al, Scaramouch also have a range of travelogues and photo books, shortly these will be joined by some other non fiction titles.
To kick start this new career the first part of Gaby - Friends - the 15th Gaby book is available today! As usual the Kindle version lags a little, it should be available sometime this evening but here are the LULU links for paper and pdf;
I had an inkling last week but it's been confirmed today, my tenure at my employers has ended after a mere 11 years service. Brutal but quick end but no less discombobulating for that.
So I'm in flux atm, not sure what i'll do but I might have to fill some time with scribbles.
roll or other baked product at the moment so I've sent four new chapters to the editor - it would've been more except stupid blonde that I am I managed to wipe a full new chapter and it took 3 days to remember everything I'd written - essential as I'd written two more after it!
Potentially then we'll be up into the teens by next weekend so there might be a new part book on Sunday.
Today though there definitely is a new chapter here.
Well here we are, Book 14 in the Gaby saga is complete and now available in a single 300 plus page volume at both Kindle and Lulu sites. The eagle eyed amongst you will note a change of title for the volume, Gaby San didn't sit very well in either language or continuity so it will now be Gaby - The Girl.
is of course here to stay for a while and rather than make plans for my writing we'll just have to see how it pans out.
My biggest problem, having a job and other interests, is time. If the muse is with me it still takes 3-4 hours to write a single Gaby chapter plus any research time which translates to a lot of keyboard time! I managed 4 chapters between Tuesday and today but only wrote on three days due to other stuff so you see the issue. Some days I just need to kick back and veg!
Yep, the muse is back and it being Christmastide I've tapped out a short Chrimbo tale - well it started out short but its ended up with three parts, each edited on Boxing Day by Angharad! Its a bit of a Marmite but if you do enjoy it please hit the kudo button! Parts 2 and three will be posted very soon.
You get the usual chapter of Gaby too so there's something for er, someone.
I've put my own Christmas Day disaster (dead cooker) behind me, guess I'll be using the microwave a lot for a few weeks!
Well it's been a more interesting day than i'd planned but certainly not the worst.
So from the top, I did have stuff to unwrap that I didn't buy including from my offspring.
I did have my Christmas lunch - that's where things went a bit awry! I lost my power and heat just after starting to cook so I ended up cooking on a tiny camping stove! When the electrician got here he quickly identified the problem - my cooker is no more - oh joy, at least the freezer and microwave are still running.
