Happy Canadian Thanksgiving, everyone.

I know I got a lot to be thankful for - My job, my daughter, her mother, my mother, my brother and sister-in-law, my (mostly good) health, and being a citizen of what I consider one of the best countries on Earth for trans people.

Bacon

Bacon is bacon its got loads of fat it it and pork. Well unless you mean back bacon which is totally different.

As for a Canadian thanksgiving well Meals usually consist of ham, turkey, perogies, lots of pickles(sour garlic dill) cheese, deserts are apple and pumpkin pie.

I'm not a fan of stuffing at all so I usually skip that. Turkeys are slow roasted for hours so that they are dripping with juices. Gravy is made from the drippings and there is also usually mashed potatoes and last of the season corn minus the cob. Cranberry sauce and fresh homemade bread are also there.

Yeah its a very filling meal that you usually don't eat anything before hand.

As for drinks.. well depends on which side of the family. On one side before and after, but not during, they drink beer. The others side prefers hard liqour. Adults during meal can have wine.

rest of us usually have pop, juice, coffee, or tea. I think there is milk but I'm not sure. Usually after everyone completely stuffs themselves we sit around, or nap, for like 30 minutes.

Perogies? You must be Ukrainian. I've heard a few people have perogies on Thanksgiving but not the case at my house. Our meal list usually consists of turkey, stuffing, potatoes (either mashed or scalloped), carrots, pickles (sometimes served with green olives), rolls (gotta have our bread and butter, literally...), cranberry sauce, and of course either pumpkin or apple pie for dessert. I have no idea where my mum got it from but she always serves apple pie with a slice of cheddar cheese on it (not melted). My grandmother and I don't like wine so we usually split a bottle of sparkling grape juice.
