Sunday is here again!
And so we start a new month although the weather gives no indication of supplying the usual February snow falls - yet!
So lets get right into things. On Thursday I decided to grab lunch at my 'favourite' café down near Trowbridge on yet another grey day. Fed and watered I set off for the return via Corsham and Chippenham but then found myself going up to Malmesbury before turning west.
Of course that then involved a long drag across the Cotswolds into a stiff breeze and to top it off some wet decided to join the fun. Let me tell you, that combo is never fun and by the time I returned to civilisation (?) I was quite damp and bushed! 120km banked which put me over 1500km for the month.
On to yesterday and I thought I'd go north for a change, well north east to be correct. there was a warning of afternoon damp but the morning was relatively pleasant out through Chipping Sodbury then up the Cotswold edge and towards Tetbury. Things were going so well until I flatted, however, that fixed I continued in a loop around to Stroud catching a bit of damp on the way. A stop at a roadside burger van for refreshments then the haul back south into, yep, you guessed it, a stiff headwind!
But at least it kept the rain off even if I was pretty tired when I got back to start the new month with 110km in the pot.
