no, wait, its a leap year so another day to go!

Well since the weekend it's been mostly dry, bright even but its been quite cool, 2/3c but without that easterly wind dragging in the cold air it feels warmer (ish).

Monday, other than a trip to the shop, i spent mostly finishing & preparing the 'bike' book off ready for publication. Yep its finished and is now available in glorious technicolour, both digital and dead tree, on Amazon, i'll get it onto Lulu later. Its a sort of ride gazeteer, the detail, maps and observations of 100 rides of at least 100km ridden from New Year 2023 through until this last weekend. It isn't meant to be anything more than a bit of light reading but its been fun revisiting days out that were long forgotten. Each ride has full metrics and route map, many also have some sort of photographic memory - food features regularly! I don't suppose it'll be of interest to many on here but there's a link below anyhow.

So that was Monday, Tuesday i set off for a steady ride to Clevedon for a mucky burger, yeah now i'm into my sixties i'm taking things a bit easier, only 86km lol. There were three highlights on the ride, the burger of course, double cheeseburger with salad and onions, the others i was actually riding for. Number two was actually more a low rather than high, negotiating some civil engineering works, i slipped and barked my shin, i wasn't even riding, just scooting through and where i slipped, on a steel plate, i was just about stopped. Broke another brake adjuster as the bars did a 180 but otherwise unscathed. Number three was more exciting for me, a flock of maybe 30 egrets near Stanton Drew, i've seen them in ones and twos but never in such numbers, really quite something as they took to the air.

In other news, my Vinted project is going quite well, sales have been steady, the prices are low (typically £2-3) so i'll never be rich from it. Even at the almost giveaway prices people are making silly offers though. It might be free listing but i'm responsible for packing, by the time i've bought mailers etc, laundered, photographed and listed, i reckon i've invested @ £1 per item. So when they offer £1 on a £2 item it really isn't worth my while selling as i'll be out of pocket on the deal, i'm not a charity! Have a look see here, i'll be putting more stuff up on a regular basis.

That's about it for now, i'm off for a short walk in a bit - well you have to do some exercise right? I'll be back with more musings and Gaby on Sunday.
Tschussie,
Madeline Anafrid
