I was re-reading this story, when I started noticing how many characters I had introduced in it. To make things a little easier to keep track of everyone, I decided to create the list below. I know it's been a pretty long time since I originally posted this story, so there probably won't be a lotta folk using this list, but I do see a few hits on a pretty regular basis, so I decided to post the list anyway. Girlfriends
"Marcia - Terri's friend (girlfriend?)"
It seems common for girls to refer to their girl good friends as girlfriends. In a certain story of mine, and its incomplete sequel, Luke barely manages to avoid referring to the girls as his girlfriends. An alternate is BFF or BFFs.
I'm losing my mind. Emacs's version of "cut" (^X) is ^W. I used ^W not once but twice just now, trying to edit a sentence.

A girlfriend ...
... can sometimes be a girl who's a friend, as well as someone you're dating. In Terri's case, it's more of a girl who's a friend, but also someone Teri's attracted too, even if she isn't ready to admit it to herself, or anyone else.
