A Mechanical Rose

You found me alone in the dark
A place time forgot how to mark
Graced with a crown made from dust
Attended by servants of rust
My soul just awaiting a spark
Wind my mechanical heart
A touch that will set me apart
Lead me in dance to your tune
Like water caresses the dune
Less of a science than art
Each beat is a tick or a tock
To turn the last key in my lock
Show me a way to the sun
Where two takes the place of the one
A feeling unbound by the clock
I welcomed your light in my room
A solace replacing the gloom
Machinery coming alive
Into this new world I dive
Where unbroken roses may bloom

Random poetry things!
I just felt like writing something different today, while enjoying a spot of sun on the balcony after a delicious lunch. Some phrases just popped into my head, and again I was saved by my habit of keeping a notepad within reach at all times.
So, born from a warm summer day and a slightly spicy chicken salad with a side of garlic bread and iced lemon-water by the pitchers, I give you A Mechanical Rose.
As always, thanks for reading :)

Mechanical Rose not prose...
Melly, I am glad you came by here,
It is easier to dance when there is two.
You gave light to my day. Mechanics don't need to be metal parts but the working of relationships and the heart.
I think the light you see is part of your own reflected in me.

A prose by any other name?
That's a sweet sentiment, Jessie :)
