Life is for living, for fun and for joy,
So we shouldn’t feel sad if born as a boy,
But some of us do ‘cos our feelings aren’t right,
Not all of us boys play football and fight,
Some are just gentle and quiet, like a mouse,
And others like dolls and to join girls to play house,
So why can’t it be that when we get to eight,
We just visit the doc before it’s too late’
So she has a machine and by the flick of a switch,
We change to a girl without any hitch,
No trouble or strife whilst we live on our dreams
Or are they our nightmares, sometimes that’s how it seems
Who’d care at that age if we’re Simon or Sue,
If it makes us all happy, what harm would it do?
Life shouldn’t be sad full of sorrow and pain,
So let’s turn back the clock and start over again.
Yes life is for living and we shouldn’t feel bad,
And to hide our true feelings from mum and from dad,
Then the rest of our life wouldn’t be like the first seven,
We’d be floating on air,
............ oh surely that’s heaven.
